Kai's Pov

Who built this castle?

I thought to myself shaking the stones and people from a bad shot one of my soldiers made

I didn't even have to open my mouth before the soldier dropped the arrows and began to run around the training grounds.

I've had the soldiers out training since sunrise. I couldn't sleep last night. Especially with her sleeping in my bed a few meters away from me. I don't know what it was but my body just remained focused on the breaths she was taking or the way her silver hair caused the moonlight in just the right way.

she rolled her body towards me allowing Me to watch the sheets rise and fall with every breath she took

her braid was messily displayed all over my pillow causing the moonlight to reflect on her uniquely colored hair.

"You are kai, prince kai" her words echoed through my head.

my father and the kingdom took pride in the name I had earned from my many battles

at first that title brought me shame. people feared me and I was no longer seen as a man but a weapon of war.

but I now understand that is what I am

I am a killer who used my fire for destruction

the sooner that she sees that the better off we will both be.

Eventually, after hours of trying to rest and read reports, I had to meet the soldiers on the training grounds with no sleep. Training usually is something that relieved stress and eventually calmed me, but all day I found myself comparing them to luna.

Her form and accuracy when fighting even unusual strength.

Something that was meant to be a 2-hour training turned into a 6-hour punishment for the soldiers. 10 men have been taken to the medic and 6 have passed out from exhaustion.

Alright, men move to hand-to-hand combat. Everyone grab a staff" I yelled over their huffing and puffing

They placed their arrows back on the appropriate shelves and moved toward the combat matt

"Prince Kai!" I found myself cringing when I heard that voice

"Prince Kai!" I heard princess Lulia yell from behind me

I looked to see her in a grand lime green dress and a lovely hat

"Kai you missed our picnic this morning because of training so I decided it would be fun to come to join you"

"Join me" I nearly laughed

Lulia doesn't do violence. She's hated it since we were younger, when she found out I was heading to war she nearly cried for a week straight. She cants even handle passive violence like sparring

What does she really want?

"Prince kai I am a princess you know! I should know how to defend my kingdom as well."

Just then she reached behind her and untied the back of her dress. I quickly turned around in the direction of my men to find them all staring wide-eyed as well. I glared at them quickly, forcing them all to reluctantly turn around as well.

"Prince kai I'm not stripping my body is covered"

she said I turned to find her in a black training suit that we give to recruits. Her hair was pulled into a low neat bun and she was blushing intensely at the thought of me thinking about her naked.

"Well stop gawking and let's get started" her voice wavered towards the end as she looked over at the mat. I knew she was uncomfortable with the idea of fighting. I couldn't stand to watch her fidget with her shirt hem any longer
