Marinette's POV:
She leaves the house to go to work.
She is grateful that Bethany's school starts today.
Her parents offered to pick Bethany up after school.
Good thing, too, because she was not sure how long work might last.
She smiles.
Narrator's POV:
Marinette sits at her desk.
All her coworkers whisper amongst themselves. They all wonder who sent Marinette the flowers.
"Wow, Marinette, looks like an admirer sent you something!"
"Yeah, you are so lucky!"
Marinette pays them no mind as she works.
Marinette's POV:
She finishes work around 5 pm. What on earth? She sees the lovely roses.
Where did this come from anyway? She reads the tag as a blush feels her cheeks.
It says, "Thought you might enjoy these flowers as they are just right for you as you are an adoring mother to Bethany. Your friend, Adrien Agreste."
She can not believe he sent her flowers. She grabs her purse and the vase. She carries them out to her car. She rolls her eyes. She shakes her head.
"Adrien, why send them to me? I am a widow, and you are a bachelor."
She drives home with the vase gently placed on the back seat.
She arrives home, parks the car, gets out, and gently carries the vase inside.
She places it gently on the table.
Bethany's POV:
"Mom, you are home! Grandpa and Grandpa took me out to dinner. Then, they dropped me off. "
"Whoa, are those roses?"
She hopes the guy who sent them is Adrien.
She just knows Adrien is good for her mom.
Too bad her mom does not love him.
Adrien would make a great stepdad.
Marinette's POV:
"Bethany, you startled me!"
She gasps in surprise.
Marinette is glad her daughter is home. She did not know she would be there when she walked in the door. Goodness, her folks should have warned her.
"Yes, I got them to sent to me at work. Before you say anything, they are from Adrien. No, this does not mean we are dating. He just sent them."
Bethany's POV:
"Wow, Mom, he must like you!"
Bethany smirks as she walks away. She can tell her mother is flabbergasted at her sudden remark.
She thinks yes score one for Adrien.
