Five years later, "Come on Bethany, it is time to go!" Marinette says.
"Alright coming, mother!" Bethany says.
Marinette knows she has been a widow for five years and they have been rather lonely. She hopes the move back to Paris, France will be good for her and Bethany.
Meanwhile in Paris, with Adrien and his friends, Nino decides to see how his buddy Adrien is lately. He knows he took the news about Marinette badly in the past.
"Adrien are you okay?" Nino asks.
"Why does everyone want to know how I am?" Adrien snaps at him.
"Adrien it has been five years," Chloe says.
"I hear Marinette is a widow, her husband's helicopter crashed a few months after the wedding," Lila says.
"I hear the same thing, but that is not all I hear though. I hear she..." Alya says.
"I hear Marinette plans to return home soon!" Alix says.
Back to Marinette and Bethany who are on a plane ride back to Paris, France, "Mom will your friends be happy to see you?" Bethany asks.
"I am sure they will," Marinette says.
"Will I get to my grandparents?" Bethany asks.
"Yes, and they will be happy to meet you in person!" Marinette says.
"You will get to meet my friends too," Marinette tells her.
Paris France...
Marinette's friends smile at the knowledge that Marinette's return will be any day now.
Adrien's jaw drops in surprise at the news. "What? Marinette is coming back?" Adrien says.
"She sure is, why the hurt look, man?" Nino asks.
"I am just surprised because she left without saying goodbye and now she is coming back," Adrien says.
"I still love her!" Adrien says.
"What, you love Marinette?" Alya asks.
"I never knew you cared about her," Nino says.
"Oh, I figured it out after she left and wished I had figured it out sooner," Adrien says.
"Do not worry, you can tell her soon!" Chloe says.
"Awe, so romantic!" Alix says.
"It sure is!" Lila says.
