"Adrien, would you like to join us for a snack?" Marinette asks.
"Sure, I would happy too, M-Marinette," Adrien stutters.
"Great!" Marinette says.
Bethany laughs again. She can tell Adrien likes her mother.
"You are still p-pretty like I remember!" Adrien says. He thinks she is prettier than before since she is way older.
"What was that you said, Adrien?" Marinette asks.
"N-Nothing at all!" Adrien replies.
"Well, if you need to talk I am here," She says.
"I will be sure to keep that in mind, Mari,'' Adrien says.
Bethany's POV:
Adrien has a crush on my mother. She thinks I will not tell her though because it is a secret.
"Why did you invite him?" Bethany asks.
"I thought it would be fun to have a friend around," Marinette says.
"Yes, but he is a boy!'' Bethany says.
"Maybe I should go!" Adrien says.
Adrien's POV:
Who knew it would be so awkward around my crush years later or that she would have a child with her?
"Adrien, wait! Please stay," Marinette says.
Marinette grabs his wrist as she speaks to him.
"Marinette, why? Why me?" Adrien asks. He thinks, great I sound like a whiny toddler now.
"I mean why did you invite me instead of Alya?" Adrien asks.
"Oh, about that you see the thing is Alya has plans with Nino, and besides..." Marinette says.
"Well, Mom?" Bethany asks. She thinks Mom just tell us already.
"We used to have good times, right?" Marinette asks.
"Yes, we did only it was usually in a group setting," Adrien says.
"Oh, I see," Marinette says.
"Marinette, I have to tell you something," Adrien remarks. He blushes.
"Adrien, why did you tell me you were sick?" Marinette asks. She mistaken's his blushes for a fever.
"Mom, he is not sick," Bethany says.
"We have our smoothies, let's go!" Marinette says since she already ordered them, paid for them, and the restaurant gave them to her.
Marinette and Adrien both have mango strawberry smoothies. Bethany has a blueberry smoothie.
"Thanks, the smoothie is delicious!" Adrien says.
"Mine, too, Mom!'' Bethany says.
"Yum, " Bethany remarks to show how much she likes her smoothie.
"I agree," Adrien says.
Adrien hands Marinette a red rose. He hopes she likes it.
Bethany smiles, "He gave you a pretty flower, Mom!"
"Thanks, Adrien!" Marinette says. She thinks, well things just got awkward.
"M-Marinette, I..." Adrien begins.
"Adrien, do not we have nothing in common. This is not a date it is just a hang out with an old friend." Marinette says.
Adrien's POV:
When she told me it was a hang out with an old friend, I felt stupid about giving her the rose. I felt dumb for ever thinking she could see me as more than a friend when she is a widow.
Bethany's POV:
She thinks, Adrien looks unhappy now. My mom called it a friend's hang out and he he looks hurt.
"You are seeing someone, I am so sorry. I did not mean to interfere," Adrien says.
"No, she is not," Bethany says.
"I b-better go!'' Adrien says and leaves. He can not let Marinette see how much her words hurt him.
