Ok here's a super short last minute (sort of late) birthday fluff for Nicky's day. I wrote this on my phone so sorry if there's like a ton of grammatical errors, my hands are trés shaky today. Requests are open if you have any 💖

You took in a deep breath as you nuzzled further into Nick's chest wrapping him tightly in your arms. He hummed in content as his fingernails raked up and down your spine gently, causing you to giggle at the ticklish sensation.

"I missed you." You sighed, tapping your fingers along to the rhythm of his heartbeat.

"Missed you too," he pressed a quick kiss to your hair, "But I'm home for a whole month now. You'll be sick of me soon."

"Never," you replied reaching out to lace your fingers with his. A soft warmth surrounded the two of you as you laid in your bed. The sheets had been kicked away as they had become tangled between you so you laid bare beside him. The sweet summer air floated in through the open window. The hum of crickets and the distant whoosh of traffic filled the room.

"What was your favorite part?" you questioned.

"Of what?"

"The tour."

"The shows I suppose. I don't really care for all the rest of it all that much. I want to bring you next time. It'll be better that way. I think you'll really love Italy," he said, "I'll even take you to Rome."

"I love you, Nick," you told him, giving his hand a firm squeeze.

"I love you too, darling."

"I'm just so glad you're back."

"I'm hungry," Nick said causing you to laugh.

"How about a grilled cheese?" you suggested with a giggle.

"That sounds perfect." You threw on one of his t-shirts and he pulled on a pair of boxers before the two of you went into your kitchen. As you began pulling out everything you needed he stopped in front of the refrigerator examining all of the postcards that you'd hung with magnets from all different sorts of places that Nick had been over the last few months. Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Gothenburg, and Oslo among countless others. You had cherished them when they came in the mail and you would reread his little notes on the back whenever you were feeling lonely.

"You kept them all?"

"Of course I did, silly," you replied. He just smiled at you and shook his head. The grilled cheese crackled on the stove and you watched it carefully to keep it from burning. Nick had put on a Bob Dylan record and was traipsing around the apartment humming along. When the sandwiches were complete Nick led you out to the balcony where you sat as close to eachother as possible examining the stars and the lights of the city over the hills.

"That right up there should be Apus...I'm not too good with these sort if things though," Nick said as he pointed out a few different speckles in the sky to you. You leaned your head against his shoulder and nodded along.

"Looks like Apus to me," you replied, even though you didn't have any idea what Apus looked like.

"The moon is pretty tonight," Nick commented as he admired the maxing cresent above you.

"The moon is always pretty," you said through a yawn.

"Not as pretty as you," he replied, glancing down at you and winking.

"That was cheesy as hell." you chuckled.

"But you liked it," he pointed out.

"Perhaps," you replied, trying to fight off your smile.
