This is really a story I thought of out the blue. I know most books have extensive plots, character development, and themes but this is literally something fun for me. I'm saying that bc I don't want you guys to get caught up in small details while reading. Anywhooo views and votes are appreciated, but I typically prefer comments. I want to know how you guys feel while reading. It helps me! Enjoy this chapter, i'll fix typos later. peace ✌🏾Sincere and Cass silently sat by their lawyer as they waited for the others to join the conference room. Their lawyer and close friend, Drew, thought mediation would be better than going to court. The evidence they had wasn't enough to throw the whole case away, but it was enough to put a dent in Solana's story.
"Try not to speak unless the mediator asks you a question." Drew said as all eyes fell on Cassie. She was prone to not following instructions.
Cassie sighed. If it wasn't 7 am she would argue, but she definitely too tired to even fight it. "I won't say anything, but if I accidentally kick her lying ass under the table it don't count."
Drew stared at Sincere. He was silently pleading with him to control Cass; they couldn't afford for their character to take a hit in the process. Sincere simply nodded and patted Cass' knee.
Solana and her lawyer walked towards the room slowly with the mediator behind them. Solana dramatically sat down in the chair directly across from Sin. She watched as they all stood and shook hands with everyone except her. Her lawyer nudged her and she reluctantly shook Sincere and Drew's hand. Cassie had already sat down and Solana knew to leave her alone.
"Good morning folks!" The mediator announced loudly. "I do hope we can be civil this morning." He had an airyness about himself, but Drew had already warned them that he was a no nonsense type of man.
He cleared his throat and introduced himself, "I'm Jason Garrett. And this is the mediation for Lowe vs Nolan and Snow. Are all parties present?"
After confirming he continued, "And for counsels we have Andrew Powell and Michael Davis?" He looked above the rim of his wire glasses waiting on a response. After reading the details of the case aloud and stating why they were there Jason spoke again, "It's not out of the ordinary for a mediator to ask questions. So might I ask who initiated the relationship?"
Jason's eyes were trained on Sincere, so he spoke. "I initiated the relationship sir."
"And you were aware of this Ms. Snow?"
"I encouraged it." She smiled and saw Solana roll her eyes in her peripheral view.
"And what went wrong?" Jason's eyes had returned to the file in front of him.
"She wanted me to leave my girlfriend and be with her." He spoke firmly.
"Ms. Lowe, you're seeking 10 million dollars and paid therapy sessions. Is that right?"
She nodded.
"And Mr. Davis did you consult with your client on this number?" His tone was even, but his face said what he couldn't.
"I did sir." Her lawyer responded hesitantly.
"All things considered you thought this was the best number to present?" He said in a condescending tone.
