Annie I promise I'm fine

Right at that moment Annie called Noah.

"Annie, I'm fine," Noah said. "I swear.

"Liar. What's going on? Talk to me."

"Nothing," he lied. "I'm fine. Nothing is wrong."

"Why won't you talk to me? You don't think we're close friends?"

"No, it's not that."

Noah took a deep breath.

"Annie, I just don't want to talk about it."

"What happened between you and Sabrina?"

"We broke up. That's all."

"I know that, but is everything okay between you guys?"

"Yeah, everything is fine between us. We're just friends."

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you guys break up?"

"The break - up went well. We both agreed that it's best to break up. Neither one of us wanted to deal with the long distance. We did that over the summer and it was hard."

"Do you still love her?"

Noah didn't say anything. He had no idea what to say.

Annie knew what his answer was.

"Noah, I know you. I've known you for four or five years now. I know you still love Sabrina."

"So what if I do?" Noah asked. "She doesn't want to deal with the long distance and neither do I. And she moved on."

"How do you know that?"

"Corey told me. He told me there's a guy that she began talking to."

"Huh."

"What?"

"Nothing," Annie lied.

"Annie, what do you know?"

"Umm, I'll call you back."

"Annie. Annie! Ann-"

Annie hung up the phone.

Jack came into the dorm.

"What's up, Noah?" Jack asked. "Dude, are you okay?"

"Yeah," Noah lied. "I'm fine."
