The next week was a blur of orders and housework and I'd recieved a custom order for a wedding dress which was so not my usual gig but it was such a gorgeous design that I took it. The bride was going to meet me at the cottage to do some measuring and fitting and I had to get everything spick and span. I didn't want her to think that I was a funny old recluse, even if I kind of was.
A few days before I made sure to walk up to Dorians to ask about my roof, he seemed shy when I asked, he probably remembered falling asleep for the whole day instead of helping out like he said he would but he agreed and followed me back down to my house, with Blue in tow. I'd bought a bag of dog food and a couple tins in case They both ended up staying over again. Not that I had anticipated anything happening today.
Through the forest we chatted about the week we had each had, apparently he was considering building a bigger house on the property, it had been in his head since he got the property but the cabin became home more easily than he thought and we tend to settle with what we have. He was excited about the dress commission and suggested I make a little change room for customers who are fitting, which I thought was brilliant. The forest was bright and green that day and I couldn't help but slip off my shoes and feel the wet dirt on my feet.
He had fixed my roof in no time at all, replacing the rusting metal with new sheets and insulating the inside, and he made a wooden frame that I hung a curtain from for the customers change room. It wasn't any usual wedding dress boutique but the bride was insistent that she wanted me to make her dress so I wasn't too worried.

I picked up an order of silk and satin as well as a bulk order of lace tulle to complete the dress and I just had to finalize the mock up in blank cotton before she arrived tomorrow. I mocked it up a few centremeters larger than the brides measurements so I could pin it to fit perfectly but it took a lot longer than normal with my mind continually returning to Dorian and Blue, even though we had seen each other recently I constantly felt like I wanted to be close to him and it was hard to concentrate on much else than the way he made me feel. I just had to focus on this project, tomorrow I could start the final dress process and it'll keep my mind busy enough.
