Hey guys, so I decided to experiment with a guy's pov anddddd I failed, my friends. But oh well! Don't throw tomatoes at me, but I posted it anyway. This is a peek into how Faye is feeling a day or so before Christmas and a peek into her and Damien's brother-sister-type-relationship. I hope you like it.. If not, then oh well. Neither do I! :) It's really short, but hey, don't worry about it. I'll be posting the next chapter soon. -Syd
"Hey, I'm gonna go check on Faye. I don't think she's been doing so great lately. Talk to you later, Mrs. J."
Heading up the stairs and turning the corner, I walked into the room to check on Faye. She was hidden beneath the blanket, scrunching it tightly in her fists. I ran my hand through my hair and sat by her bed. Leaning down, I whispered, "Fay Fay, you ok?"
I lifted the blanket off her face as she peered up at me with a wet face and puffy eyes. Seeing me, she quickly twisted her face away. Sighing, I tilted her head toward me, holding it there. I pulled up my sleeve and wiped the stray tears from her face. She turned again and hid her face as she curled up. The blanket wasn't scrunched so I reached under and grabbed her hands. If she wasn't holding the blanket her nails would dig into her palms. That always happened when she was this upset.
"Faye.."
She pulled away and held the blanket as she lay at a new uncomfortable position on her bed- any way as long as she got away from me.
"Faye, are you cold?" I asked because she had goosebumps along her arms and was completely underneath the comforter.
"No, I'm not," she muffled.
Sighing, I retrieved another blanket and covered her up. Seeing there was nothing else I could do, I sat at the foot of the bed. Quietly, she pulled the blanket off enough for me to see one eye. Her hair was sticking out in all directions and her eyes were red and puffy.
"I'm fine". She muffled into the blanket.
"Just get some sleep, ok?'
She sniffled and stretched out, now warmer with another blanket.
As she dozed off, I moved to a chair near her bed. She still clutched the blanket, but it softened as she fell asleep. I soon dozed of myself. I was awoken an hour or so later with a crying Faye sitting up on her bed. She was wrapped in the blankets like an Eskimo with only her face and a few strands of hair showing.
I quietly moved from the chair to the spot next to her in the bed. Extending my arm, I pulled her closer comfortingly and let her lean on me. She soon fell asleep once again. I dozed off eventually and neither of us awoke til morning.
When I woke up, Faye was curled up at my side and buried in the blankets shed wrapped around herself. I let out a burst of air. I was exhausted. Slowly getting up, I tried not to wake her. Being the light sleeper she is, her eyes peeked open. Instead of getting up or stretching, she whispered, "Thank you." and let her eyes close again. Her breaths evened out soon enough.
I really hoped things would be better once Christmas was past.
