What if.....

Derek was in attending's lounge staring at the wall. When Cristina came in " Hey, just wanted to let you know that Meredith's temperature went down a bit " She said groggy. Derek nodded his head still staring at the wall. " you ok? " she asked worried about him.

" I had a dream that it has been 2 years and Meredith never woke up from her coma. " Derek said closing his eyes. " I had to unplug her, she never woke up so I had to let her go, I had to remove her from life support " Derek said as a tear dropped from his eye. Cristina sat there hoping that, that day will never come and she will wake up. " It was bad, I realized that if she dies, i die " Derek said when his and Cristina's  pager beeps 911 to Meredith Grey's room. They both looked at each other with fear and sprinted to the I.C.U

In less than 5 minutes everyone ran to the room. " what happened? " Derek, Cristina and Alex yelled

" Did she code " Lexie said running down the hall with Mark and Jackson.

As soon as all of Meredith's closest friends and family were in her I.C.U room her heart rate stabilized.

" What happened i got a 911 page " Owen said with April and Richard peaking through the door.

" She almost went into V-Fib but she is ok now " Callie said. " Why would her heart rate go up " Alex asked. Everyone shook their heads.  " DO you think that this would have anything to do with the fever? " April asked in the corner. " There is no infection, I checked this morning "
Mark said making sure of it. " do you think she is bleeding again? " Owen said. " we can take her for a C.T to see what we can find " Richard said as everyone agreed and went in the hall. " What if there was a re-bleed ?" Derek thought worrying himself.
" Shepard you coming " Owen asked unhooking all of Meredith's I.V's and tubes.
Derek nodded and grabbed the ambu bag. Derek connected the ambu bag to her intubation and they all wheeled her out. She laid there as the C.T scan came back. " all clean " Richard said.
" Let's bring her out and get her back " Owen said.
" Dr. Webber... " Derek whispered when they were together
Richard turned to Derek
" What if she never wakes up and I have to unplug her " Derek said looking down at the floor.
" Derek don't think like that, Meredith is strong she will make it through this and be just fine" Richard said putting his hand on Dereks shoulder.
Derek nodded and walked out with Meredith. " how was it " Lexie and Cristina asked
" all clean " Derek replied looking at them.
The time was 11:55pm. Derek brought out his pager and pages everyone. They all ran in, " Shepard what happened? " they all asked.
" it's almost New Years " He said holding Merediths hand.
Cristina, Lexie, Alex, Mark, Arizona, Callie, Richard, Bailey, Owen, Teddy, April, Jackson all came in
" well it's a good think I have this " Cristina said grabbing a bottle of tequila from her coat. Everyone laughed. " I'll get cups " Mark said as he left the room.
" Ok I'm back " he said with a bunch of plastic cups in his hand. Cristina poured the drinks until Derek said it's almost time

" 10, 9, 8, 7, 6,"
Jackson was standing across from Meredith.
Meredith wiggled her toes. Jackson thought that he was just seeing stuff.
" 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 "

Then Meredith scrunched her eyebrows together. At this point Jackson knew what he was seeing was real.
" HAPPY NEW YEAR! "
Everyone yelled drinking their tequila and laughing. " guys.... " Jackson said as everyone completely ignored him. " GUYS " he yelled walking towards Meredith. Everyone turned to see a slight smile on his face. Jackson turned to the crowd " I think she is waking up... "
