Beth Eberhart

"Since when do you play Quidditch?" Beth asked hotly.

"Since Slytherin needs a new keeper" Theo replied.

Draco groaned and rolled his eyes, "What's the problem Beth? Worried your dear Theodore will become Hogwarts most wanted bachelor once he's a Quidditch champion"

God these pricks.

"No its just dangerous and you know that"

"Hey!" Theo exclaimed, "Malfoy literally nose dives every game and you're not up his arse about it"

"Well you're not Malfoy" Beth shouted, but she quickly realized what she had said.

Malfoy smirked at her subconscious intentions.

"Come watch tryouts, Eberhart. I promise I won't do anything stupid" Theo cocnsoled with a soft smile.

Beth couldn't help but forgive him; he made it so damn hard. She took a sip of her pumpkin juice before standing up and dusting off her robes.

"Fine" she started, "I'll be there. Good luck boys"

With that, she turned on her heels to make her way to the library. Nikki and Pansy were bound to be there, and she needed someone to rant too. Plus she had yet to finish her potions homework.

Fuck it. I'll just do it tonight.

"Beth! Over here" Nikki whispered as loud as she could to get her friend's attention across the library. She sat next to a tall bookshelf, packed tightly all the way to the ceiling. The sun light from the window cast a shadow of Nikki's hair back onto the wooden table in front of her. To her left was another tan, Hufflepuff girl with her nose in a book. It wasn't until Beth approached that the girl looked up, her big brown eyes meeting the rest of the groups.

"Alison Martin" Beth said with surprise, "it's been so long"

The pretty girl smiled, "It's great to see you"

"I was expecting Pansy but I have to say this is a pleasant surprise"

Nikki interrupted, "Love the reunion ladies, but we're trying to finish the arithmancy homework before first block"

"Who cares" Beth said as she pulled out the chair across from her, "Its tryout day anyway"

"Don't remind me" Alison huffed, looking a bit distressed.

"She's been reading Quidditch Through the Ages all morning acting like she even has to try out as captain and isn't the best chaser on the Hufflepuff team" Nikki explained.

It was true, Alison was an amazing quidditch player. While Oliver Wood was notorious for being a Quidditch fanatic, he had found his match when Martin had made an appearance in her first year. Her and Harry were the only first years to make the team, but unlike Harry who had pure luck, she had been training for years. Now in her sixth year like the rest of them, she was captain, and determined for Hufflepuff to make a comeback for the Quidditch cup.

"I want a stacked team this year. Hufflepuff will not be overlooked"

Beth grinned at her dedication, "You guys'll be great Martin. Don't worry"

"Thanks. But I've got at least 5 hours to finish my research and strategize how we're at least making it to the finals before I have to choose my team"

"Just leave her be" Nikki interjected, "I've already tried to stop her"

The girls laughed lightly at that as Alison returned to her book.
