'Did I really just think that?' Michael thought to himself. This kurvian he had just met last night, was he already in love with her? 'But a human and kurvian being together... that's impossible. But why am I feeling this then? Maybe I feel obligated to since I saved her last night? I don't even think she's attractive! Well... it is pretty cute when her tail wags because she's happy... Ughh, why did I think that...' Vivian looks at him with a concerned look 'He really looks like he's thinking hard. Heh, it's pretty cute.' Vivian thought to herself, before pausing for a moment. 'Cute? Hmmm... I never thought of humans as cute... But this one, he's different...' The two of them quickly finished breakfast and Michael started his commute to work. The diner was much closer to the bank than his apartment was. So he was able to make it to work in record time. Hoping that this will allow him to get Vivian off his mind for a bit, he heads up to his office. 'Ok, a few downed routers, some passwords that need resetting, need to set up Mr. Palov's new office computer... Ok, that should be enough to keep my mind off... her...' Michael's day started out easy enough, fixing small things and helping out his coworkers. But as the day started to come to a close his mind began to wander once more. 'I wonder if she's thinking of me right now... Ugh, of course she's not! We've known each other for a day! But maybe... maybe I could ask her out... A human and a kurvian, going on a date...' Finally done with the day, Michael decides to head to a local florist. It's rather late out so he hopes they haven't closed yet. Lucky for him they're usually open late. 'Ok, now what kind of flowers would a beautiful kurvian fox girl like? Roses, azaleas, or maybe some carnations... I guess I could ask the florist.' Michael stepped into the small shop, one of the few kurvian owned businesses. The owner, Lawrence, an old gray wolf kurvian, is startled by the human entering his shop at such a late hour. Humans rarely came in, and when they did it was always for the wrong reason. In the 25 years Lawrence's shop has been open a human has never bought anything. They only come to harass the old kurvian that works there. "Um... Hi, sir." Michael says to Lawrence. Lawrence sighs. He's always polite to the humans, but they don't care. All they see is a filthy old kurvian. "Welcome, sir. May I ask what you're looking for?" "Oh, um... I have a date tonight, but I don't know what kind of flowers to get her...." "You came to a kurvian shop to ask for a human's flower preference?" Lawrence says, confused as to why the human was asking for flowers from him. "Well, um... She's a kurvian... A fox..." Michael tells the wolf, his tone getting lower each word . Lawrence could have sworn this human just said he's going on a date with a kurvian! Was this some kind of joke? What human would be interested in a kurvian? "Oh, well sir if you're looking for flowers for a kurvian then I would suggest roses as they symbolize love in our culture." Lawrence tells the human, still half expecting him to tell him it was a joke. "Alright, could I get a bouquet of red roses, please?" "Sure thing." Lawrence quickly wraps up a bouquet of fresh red roses. They remind Michael of Vivians fur, with their deep red. 'I can't believe I told this old dude I actually have a date with a kurvian... I haven't even asked her yet!' "Might I ask why you're going out with a kurvian?" Lawrence says to Michael, shaking him from his thoughts. "Well... To be honest, I don't care that she's a kurvian. I just... I really like her. I don't know why. We haven't even know each other for very long." Michael tells the kurvian. "Hmmm... Well you sound genuine, though I've never heard of a human falling for a kurvian." Lawrence tells him. "Y-yeah, I might be the first one... But I don't care what any human or kurvian says." Lawrence in all his years had never heard of a human like. 'Him? And a kurvian?' He thinks to himself. Well kid, I hope it works out for you...' Though he doubts it will. After all. Humans and kurvians are natural enemies. "So how much will that be?" Michael asks, starting to get restless. "$75, sir." Michael pulls out his wallet and places a $100 bill on the counter. "Keep the change" He says, grabbing the bouquet and heading out the day. "Have a nice day, sir!" Lawrence tells him, happily accepting the money. Michael knew what he had to do now. He couldn't wait any longer. He hoped it wasn't too late to bother Vivian. Maybe he should head home and ask her tomorrow. 'No' He thinks to himself 'I have to do it today, I don't think I'll have the courage to do it tomorrow.' Remembering Vivian's apartment from last time he was there, Michael quickly arrives at her building. 'Wait! I don't know her apartment number!' He quickly texts her to meet him outside her apartment building. 'Huh? Why does he want to meet me outside?' Vivian thinks to herself. Quickly grabbing her jacket, she heads down to see what Michael wants. She sees him standing outside, holding a bouquet of roses. Noticing her, Michael quickly hides them behind his back. "Oh, Hi Vivian! Fancy meeting you here!" Michael says, his embarrassment clearly visible. "Well you did tell me to meet you out here." Vivian says with a chuckle. "Oh... Yeah, I did... Well, I just wanted to give you these." He says, showing her the bouquet. "Oh! Roses!" Vivians heart races. 'Wait, does he even know what those mean..? Is this... Is this his way of telling me how he feels?' Vivian takes the flowers from Michael. "Thank you Michael, they're very pretty." "Y-yeah, well they sort of reminded me of you..." Michael says, cheeks turning an even brighter pigment of red. "They do?" Vivian asks, her tail wagging. "Your fur is red, so the flowers remind me of you... And well... I heard that, um, roses signify love in your culture..." Vivian takes a step towards Michael, her heart beating faster than ever before. 'This is really happening? Is he about to do what I think he is?' "These flowers... are almost as beautiful as y-you..." Michael really did think she was beautiful, but did he really expect himself to tell her that? Well it was too late for regret. With her free hand, Vivian grabs Michael's hand. She looks into his eyes. Michael returns the gaze. "Vivian, I know I haven't known you for very long, but... I really like, like really really like... I think..." Michael pauses, preparing himself for what he's about to tell her. "I think I might be in love with you..." For a moment he worries that he's just ruined their friendship. But then Vivians eyes light up, and a smile spreads across her face. "I was wondering if you were ever going to say that." She says. This confused Michael. 'What? Did she know I was going to confess?' Vivian can tell by his face that he's confused. Vivian giggles nervously. "Well, I guess I just knew... I-I feel the same way..." She says. As they look into each other's eyes, their lips drawing closer, until they finally kiss. Michael is blown away by the feeling of Vivians lips against his own. He's hooked and deepens the kiss. Vivian happily obligues and opens her mouth, her own tongue wrestling with Michaels. Finally they separate for air. "Michael... do you know anything about kurvian mates?" "Um... not that much except for that it's like human marriage..." "Yes, it's very similar to human marriage, but less... public..." She says nervously. "Michael..?" "Yes Vivian?" Michael responds, heart pounding as to what she will say next. "Will you be my mate?" Michael is dumbfounded. Mate? Did she want to do... that? With him? A human?! Would they even be able to have a public relationship or would the outrage from humans and kurvians cause them to separate? Michael thought for a second, and in that second Vivian began to worry. Had she come on too strong? Did she weird him out? She was just about to tell him to forget about it, when Michael spoke up. "Yes." Vivians eyes light up. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. All her life she always thought she would never fall in love, yet here she was. Standing in front of the man of her dreams, even if he was a human. Flowers still in hand, she hugs Michael as tight as she can. "You know what happens next... Don't you." She whispers seductively into Michael's ear. 'Tonights gonna be a good night' Michael thinks to himself.
