Michael wakes from the best dream he's ever had, only to realize it wasn't a dream. He looks down to the furred mass sleeping in his arms. 'My mate...' He thinks to himself. Vivian soon wakes up too and looks up at her mate. "Morning beautiful." He says to her. She giggles. "Good morning to you too." Before placing a kiss onto his cheek. The two new lovers lay together, enjoying each other's company before Michael speaks up. "Whilst I do enjoy snuggling with you, we should probably get ready for work." Vivian groans. "Ugh... Why'd you have to remind me..." "I know, I wish I didn't have to go to work either. I'd much rather stay in bed with you all day." "Well c'mon, let's get ready." Vivian says, getting out and bed and dragging Michael to her bathroom. "Um, where are we going?" He questions her as they reach the door. "To the shower, obviously! You kinda smell." "Hey!" She giggles. "Sorry, but it's the truth. But don't worry, I'll help you wash off." She says with a smirk. Instantly Michael forgets the insulting comment, as they enter the bathroom to "wash" each other off . Now refreshed the two begin getting dressed, Michael reusing what clothes he had on last night. "So, Vivian... I was thinking, since we're mates now... Maybe you'd wanna move in with me..?" Michael asks nervously, worried he's moving their relationship forward too fast. Vivian stares at Michael. "Well yeah of course! That's usually how it goes. Mates living separately would just be awful!" "Oh, ok then. I guess after work today I can help you move your things over to my place." "Where is your place?" "Downtown, the Fairbrooks apartment complex." Michael answers quickly, getting distracted by his mates' dressing. "Great, that means I'll be even closer to the diner!" Now ready for work, the two leave Vivian's apartment. Splitting ways to each other's separate jobs. "Bye Vivian! I'll see you after work!" He says, placing a kiss on her muzzle. "Bye Michael!" She says, blushing at his public display of affection. Quickly making his way to the bank he greets the secretary. "Morning." He says. "Good morning, Mr. Smith." He hated when people used his last name. It made him feel like he was an old man. For once, Michael was excited to have a slow day. With less work to do around the office, he could spend more time thinking of Vivian. Tonight he was going to take her out to eat, then they could have a romantic walk in the park. He wondered what his parents would think of this. Probably yell, scream, and call him a freak. But he could care less what they thought of Vivian and him. Tonight was just going to be about her. All day he thought of ways to impress his new mate. "Yo, Michael!" Says Steve, one of his coworkers. "You alright? You seem pretty distracted today." "Never been better!" Michael cheerily responds. "Just thinking about what I'm gonna tonight." "Ok... Might I ask why?" He thinks for a moment. Should he tell him about his relationship? He wasn't really friends with any of his coworkers. "Oh, just planning a date... for my girlfriend." Steve looks skeptical. "You have a girlfriend?" "Yup." "Can I see a picture of her?" "Well... She likes to keep her privacy, so I'd have to ask." 'Yeah, he's definitely lying. No way he has a girlfriend.' Steve thinks to himself. He sighs. "That's alright I guess. Maybe we can meet up sometime, like go on a double date with me and Stacey." He tells Michael. "Uh, yeah. Maybe." Returning to his work, Michael texts Vivian, letting her know that he's almost done with work. "How are we gonna move your things over to my place?" Michael texts her, hoping she might have a car or a friend that can drive her. "My sis is coming over with her car. I told her I'm moving." "Soooo I get to meet your sister today?" "Yup, So be on your best behavior!" "I'll try!!" He sends one final text before heading out into the cold night. By the time he gets to Vivian's apartment he sees what he assumes to be Vivian's sister. She looks like Vivian, but less red and taller, and of course nowhere as beautiful as her. She's leaning on a black Toyota Corolla. Michael is about to enter the apartment block when she yells. "Hey, you human! What do you think you're doing?" "I... uh... going to see my girlfriend..?" She scoffs. "Yeah, nice try. This is a kurvian apartment block. No humans live here." "Did I say girlfriend? Oh sorry, I meant mate." He says, before turning around to go see Vivian. "Yeah, that's not funny, human. Don't joke about that stuff." She says, running after him. "Are you even listening to me! What do you think you're doing!" The angered fox grabs Michaels arm. "Hey! Mary, what do you think you're doing!" Suddenly you see Vivian, stepping out of her apartment. "I found this human sneaking around, probably trying to break into one of these apartments." "Hey, I wasn't sneaking around!" Michael retorts. "Oh shut it, human!" Mary yells at him. "Guys, stop fighting! Mary, he wasn't trying to break in! He's helping me move out!" Mary looks at her sister. "What?" She says, confused as to why this human was helping her move out. "Ok, sis, please don't freak out... But, um... This is my mate, Michael." Mary's jaw drops. "You... MATED A HUMAN?!! WHAT THE HELL VIVIAN!" She screams at her sister. "Mary! There's no need to yell!" "I THINK THERE IS!! YOU HAD SEX... WITH A HUMAN!!" "SO WHAT?! I LOVE HIM!" Michael starts to feel unwanted by the angry kurvian. "You're kidding me, right? You love him?!" "Yes! I do! And he loves me!" "Oh really? Then how about we ask the human? Hey, you!" Mary yells at Michael. "W-what?" "So, you slept with my sis, huh?" "I-I did..." Michael stutters out, complete terrified of the vixen standing over him. "You know what that means?" "Y-yes... It means we're mates now." She scoffs. "So you're not a complete dumb ass. What a surprise." "Mary! Don't call my mate that!" Vivian yells. Her sister sighs. "God, it's too late for this shit... Listen Vivian, I don't know why you're moving in with a human... But, I guess I'll help you..." Vivian blankly stares at her sister. "Wait... Really? After all that yelling you're just gonna give up and help us?" Mary groans. "Yes Viv, don't make me regret it... Now come on, let's start packing up." The 3 of them begin putting Vivians possessions into cardboard boxes. With everything packed into Mary's car, they drive off. "I'll have to talk to the landlord later about canceling my contract." Vivian says. "Ok... So where am I going?" Mary asks Michael. He tells her the address of his apartment block. Mary grumbles something, but Michael is unable to hear what she said. "Sooo, Mary. How's mom?" "She's doing good, probably won't be too pleased about your... situation though." Vivian sighs. "Yeah, I figured... I hope that you would have at least been a little supportive..." She grumbles out. Mary's ears fall back onto her head. "Listen, Viv. I'm sorry... It's just, you know how I don't like humans... Er, no offensive." She says, looking back at Michael. "It's alright..." Michael says. "You know, maybe hates a strong word... I just dislike some of you." Mary says. There is an awkward silence in the car as the 3 of them pull up to Michael's apartment block. "Do you two need any help carrying this stuff inside?" Mary asks, trying to be polite to the human. "No thanks, I think we've got it all." Vivian says. Placing the boxes on the ground, Vivian waves her sister goodbye as she drives away. "Well that could have gone better." Vivian mumbles. "I think it went pretty well. She didn't try to kill me, which is a positive." She chuckles. "Heh, I guess you're right." "Well c'mon, let's go in." Michael says, leading Vivian to his apartment. "Welp, this is it!" Placing the box onto the floor, he gets out of his key and unlocked the door to his apartment. They step inside their now shared apartment. "I'll try and get you a key in the morning, for now you can have mine since you get home earlier than me." Michael tells her, placing her belongings onto his dining room table. "And I assume we'll be sleeping in the same bed?" Vivian asks. Michael laughs. "Yes, of course we will Vivian. Speaking of bed, I'm tired. We can unpack the rest of your things in the morning." "Guess I'll go to bed too." Grabbing some clothes from one of the boxes, she changes into sleeping wear. Michael changes out of his work clothes and into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. They slip into Michael's bed and fall asleep in each other's arms.
