Walking from a very restful night, Michael looks at his phone, noticing 11 missed calls from his sister. 'What..? Why would she call? Did something bad happen?' Vivian looks up at him. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" She says, noticing the concerned look on his face. "Mmm? Oh, nothing. Just missed some calls from my sister..." He says. "You should probably call her back." "I guess I should..." Michael dials his sister. It rings for a second before an annoyed female voice begins speaking. "Finally you pick up." "Yeah... Sorry sis, I was sleeping." He says. "I, uh, don't want to sound rude or anything, but why are you calling me?" "Ugh! Don't you remember what we're doing today!" "Um... No..?" "God you're so forgetful... We're getting lunch together! We finally agreed that we would see each other more. We used to be close as kids, but when you moved out to the city we kind of grew apart..." She almost whispers into the phone. "Oh... Right..." "So I'll be at your apartment, so please get ready." "A-Alright! Can do! See you soon!" Michael nervously chuckles into the phone. 'What a weirdo..." His sister thinks. As Michael hangs up, Vivian looks at him with concern. "You didn't seem happy about her coming over..." "Well... Um... As you probably know, I haven't really told anyone about you yet, aaand my sister... Well, she doesn't really like... your kind..." He says, worried about offending his mate. "So I'm just worried about how she'll react when her brother is sleeping with one of them..." Vivian frowns. "Oh... I can hide somewhere if you want..." 'If you're too ashamed of me...' She thinks. Michael looks at her for a moment. 'No, I refuse to hide my love, if my sister can't handle... Then she can screw right off!' He places a kiss on her lips, surprising Vivian. "I won't hide my love for you... Plus I'm sure once she actually gets to know you, you guys'll become great friends!" Vivian smiles. "I hope so." She says. Suddenly they hear a knock. "That's probably her. We better get dressed." Michael says, running to grab his and his mates clothes. 'What's taking him so long?' His sister thinks. He usually would immediately open the door. So why was he taking so long. Suddenly the door opens, revealing Michael... And a kurvian? A fox kurvian by the looks of it. She was dressed in sweats and a t-shirt. Michael was wearing almost identical clothes. "Um... Who's this?" She asks. "Well Angela, this is Vivian. Vivian, my sister, Angela." He says. "Ok, but what's she doing in your apartment?" She asks, slightly concerned her brother had kidnapped the poor girl. "Well... Vivian is my... Mate..." He says. Wincing, he gets ready for the bombardment of insults. But they never come. Instead Angela's face switches from one of concern, to shock, and then to excitement. "You mean you finally found a girlfriend?!" She asks, buzzing with joy her brother finally found someone he could love, even if she was a kurvian. "Well, I guess for humans she is my girlfriend... But yes, I have. And before you say anything, I love her with all my heart and nothing you can say will change that." He says sternly. She says. "Michael, I know we grew up in a pretty anti-kurvian town, but I promise that I don't hate your girlfriend for what she is." Angela says. Michael looks at his sister and smiles. 'Well it looks like I was wrong sis, I guess you don't hate kurvians' He thinks, smiling even more. "Thanks sis." He says "So Michael, will Vivian be joining us for lunch?" She asks. "Of course, I'd love to." Vivian says, happy that Michael's sister seemed much more accepting of them than her own sister. "Great! You two better get dressed then! Can't have you go outside looking like that." Quickly getting into decent clothes, they meet Angela outside. "C'mon, there's a cafe I passed by that looks pretty good!" The three of them make their way down the street. Vivian grabs onto Michaels hand as they walk back crowds of humans, trying to ignore the things they say about her and Michael. Angela points to a little cafe across the street. "Over there!" She calls, motioning the two to follow her. "I've heard great things about this place from some of my friends. It's also pretty friendly towards kurvians, so you should be fine." She says, looking at Vivian. Vivian smiles. "Sounds great!" She says. They head inside and find an open booth. "Man, this place sure is small." Michael says, looking around at the limited number of seating. "So what do you guys want?" Angela asks. "We have to go order our food at the counter, but I can do that." She says. "I guess I'll just have coffee." Michael says. "I'll get the same as Michael." Vivian says. "You sure you guys don't want any pastries or something?" Angela asks "I guess we could order some donuts." Michael says, smirking. "Of course, you sure do love donuts..." Angela says. "What about you, same as him?" "Sure!" Vivian says, excitedly. "It's been forever since I've had donuts." She says, her tail wagging cutely. Michael can't help but stare. She giggles. "Eyes up here mister!" She says, wagging her finger in front of his face. "Wait till we get home for any of that." She whispers into his ear before kissing him. "Man, I'm gone for less than a minute and you two are all over each other." Angela says, sitting down. "Food will probably be ready in a few minutes. Vivian looks visibly embarrassed. Noticing this Angela quickly apologies. "Don't worry sweetie, I'm just messing with you two. You guys could be making love right here in the booth and I wouldn't bat an eye!" She says laughing. "Angela!!" Michael yells at her, flustered beyond belief. "I'm just messing with ya, big bro!" She says, still chuckling a bit. Vivian giggles a bit, clearly not as embarrassed as Michael was. "Order 12?" A voice yells across the little cafe. "That would be ours!" Angela says, getting up to retrieve their food and drinks. She brings a tray with donuts and 3 cups of coffee on top. "Here we go." She says, placing it down on the table. The three of them quickly pick out the donuts they want and a cup of coffee. "Mmmm! So good!" Vivian says, with a mouth full of donuts. "I'm guessing you like them?" Angela says. "Yeah!" She tells her excitedly. "So sweet!" Michael somehow had already eaten 3 donuts. "Jeez bro, save some for the rest of us." Angela scolds him. "Why are you always so bossy." He says jokingly. Angela laughs. "Gotta look out for my big bro!" She says. "I think I should be the one protecting my poor little sis." Michael says mockingly. "Haha, very funny. I'm still probably stronger than you, even if I am younger." She quips back. "Eh, I just got bad genes." "Don't blame your genes on your lack of any muscle." They converse for a while. Suddenly Michael clears his throat. "H-Hey sis... I've been meaning to ask this, how do you think mom and dad will react to my... girlfriend." He says nervously. Angela fumbles with her thumbs a bit. "I-I don't know... Probably not good..." She says, sympathetically looking at Vivian. Her ears droop. Michael wraps his arm around her waist, bringing her in close to him. "I don't really need my parents approval though. As long as you're happy, I'm happy." He says, kissing Vivian on the cheek. She leans into him, resting her head against his shoulder. "How did I ever get so lucky." She says, looking up at him. Michael laughs. "I think I'm the lucky one." He tells her. Suddenly Angela's phone goes off. "Crap! Sorry to leave you too so soon, but I gotta head to work!" She says, hurrying towards the exit. "It was nice seeing you Angela!" Vivian calls out. They wave each other off. "Well, that went swell!" Michael says, happy that his sister and mate had gotten along. "I agree, she seemed really nice!" She says. "So what are we gonna do the rest of the day?" Vivian asks. Michael thinks for a moment, before getting an idea. "Maybe we could go to a club or something!" He says excitedly. "I've always wanted to go, but I've never had any to go with." "Are you sure? If people see us together in public they'll know that we're together..." She says sadly. Michael smashes his lips into hers, passionately kissing her in full view of everyone else in the small cafe. Breaking apart, he looks into her deep beautiful eyes. "I don't care what anyone else thinks of us. Even if they think we're freaks, weirdos, whatever. I know that I want you..." He says. She smiles at him, feeling warm inside because of her mate's love for her. "Ok, I guess we can go... But after we get to do what I want." She says with a smirk. "And what would that be?" He asks her. "I'll tell you later, now come on, lets go change into some better clubbing clothes!" They leave the cafe and head to their apartment. Vivian runs into their room and starts changing. "Vivian? Why'd you close the door? I've already seen you naked, there's nothing you need to hide, plus I need to change too!" He yells through the door. "It's a surprise for later!" She yells back. "Don't worry I'll be quick!" Finally after a few minutes she came out. "That wasn't very qui-" He cuts himself off as he looks at his mate. She looks absolutely beautiful wearing a pair of tight fitting shorts and loose fitting t-shirt that complemented her red fur very well. Her fur was brushed back as well. "How do I look?" She asks nervously, worried that her clothes were a bit too revealing. "You look absolutely beautiful." He tells her, meaning every word to the fullest. She was like a goddess to him. Her beauty, a shining beacon in his life. He grabs her by the waist and pulls her in a kiss. He grabs her tail and begins stroking it. She lets out a little moan. "Michael... We should probably get ready to go..." She tells him, knowing that if they continue it will ruin her surprise for him later. He lets take of her tail. "Alright, I guess we can go." He says. "But now I gotta get dressed." Michael says, rushing to quickly throw on some appropriate clothes. Grabbing each other's hands, they head towards one of the local clubs. Popular amongst the younger generation, the Castle Club was a safe haven for humans and kurvians alike, so surely the couple could dance in peace without the judgmental gaze of others. It was built much like any other club, a main dance floor in the center, surrounded by 2 floors for seating, with a bar off the left side and a DJ booth in the front. The two arrived later in the evening, just as the club was beginning to fill up. Humans and kurvians mingled on the dance floor, unfazed by their separate species. Vivian's eyes lit up as she saw the social norms disregarded, even seeing a few mixed species couples making out in the corner. "Michael, this place is great! Look at all of these humans and kurvians together!" She shouts excitedly over the music. "I know! Looks like we find our people!" He jokes, before pulling her to the dance floor. "Now c'mon, let's dance!" They dance for what seems like hours, the energy of the coward hyping them up. "Woooo!" Vivian shouts, dancing next to Michael. "How about we go get a drink?" He asks, feeling himself get thirsty from dancing "Sure!" She says, dragging him over to the bar. They grab 2 beers and chat with each other. Getting a little tipsy, the two decide to call it a night and head back to their apartment. His hand around Vivians waist, they drunkenly walk home, not even noticing the stares. Finally in the comfort of their apartment, the lovers can do as they please.
