LONG TIME NO SEE MY CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. As you can tell by the title THIS IS ONE OF THE MORE ADVENTUROUS TALES.

When Shannon was little I went out of state to a vacation. We had gone to a museum type place and we were in the gift shop. While we were at the gift shop a shiny keychain had caught my eye SO ME HAVING THE PEA SIZED BRAIN THAT I HAVE BENT DOWN TO LOOK AT IT FOR A LONG TIME.

I'm like Dory I have short term memory lost and I have the tendency to get distracted by shiny things.

SO I BEEN LOOKING AT THE KEYCHAIN FOR A GOOD 10 MINUTES AND WHEN I CAME UP. YUP YOU GUESSED IT (or maybe you didn't) MY FAMILY HAD GONE POOF.

THEY WERE GONE, WOOSH. JUST LIKE THAT I WAS A LONE WOLF.

After panicking for 5 minutes I went to go look around the place to make sure my family had completely abandoned me and once I realized they had I thought to myself NOW WHAT DO I DO NOW.

So I went to the front desk and looked up at the man and with a deep breath I said, "hello I lost my family I think they left me."

WHEN I TELL U I THINK THIS POOR MAN'S LIFE FLASHED BEFORE HIS EYES. HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO-

He blinked at me a couple times and then responded with, "uh okay why don't you go sit outside and wait." So I complied to his wishes and sat outside.

I would like to say during this moment more than a couple thoughts were in my mind. "Am I gonna die?" "What if this becomes my new home?" "My grandma told me old men kidnap you when your alone."

HERE AND NOW I WAS PREPARING TO LIE IN MY DEATHBED WHEN I SAW A GROUP OF THREE TEENAGERS APPROACH ME.

I was already mortified that a group of humans had approached me AND TO MAKE IT WORSE THEY WERE TEENAGERS. They came up to me and simply asked me if I was okay. And so I simply responded with, "no my family left me." The color also left their faces.

SO IG THEY FELT BAD AND THEY SAT DOWN WITH ME AND TRIED TO TALK TO ME JUST ABOUT RANDOM THINGS TO I GUESS DISTRACT ME. Was it sweet of them? Yes. But I regret to inform you that was I was an introverted socially awkward child so it did not really work.

Then I saw my uncle approach from the woods. Jk but I did see him. So I waved my new friends goodbye and ran to my uncle.

I then found out that when they realized I was missing they were about to go on a boat actually leave me across the state 😃

And the best part is the same keychain that distracted me and made me lost we went back to buy it so now I always keep my trauma with me.
