This week passed by slowly. The painful kind of slow. You attended your endless amount of science lectures, an insane amount of papers to write, an overall exhaustion. Being the way you are, you finished all your work before the weekend so you had your free day before you started getting ahead for the week on Sunday.
You were excited for the weekend. You got to see your childhood best friend, granted you saw him occasionally throughout the week since his University was only ten minutes from yours and you got to go out with Eva. That did mean you had to learn to socialize with other people, you didn't mind that much but the thought of it made you nervous.
A lot of people knew you to be always by your books. Always studying. Always in the library. No one really got to know who you really were except Kenma, not even Eva knew the real you. You liked it that way but it was lonely and hard to keep up the front.
You and Eva made your way back to the dorms after finishing up at the library. It was already 11:48pm and you both just finished your work for the week. Or at least Eva said she was but you knew she'd ask you for help later on.
"Okay so text me tomorrow when you're back from Kenma's dorm and then I'll pick you up!" Eva said as you guys stopped in front of your dorm.
"Yeah of course, we'll probably just be gaming the entire time anyways." You said laughing as you both entered your dorm.
"Hey, y/n? When was the last time you had sex?" She asked, taking a seat on your bed. This question surprised you, your jaw dropped a little and you let out a sigh.
"What's got you so interested in my sex life all of a sudden?" You asked her, raising your eyebrow.
You and Eva talked about basically everything but for some reason this took you by surprise. Of course she didn't really know bits and parts about you but she knew a fair amount. You've had hookups in the past and let's just say they haven't been great, sure there would be the one odd one that made you feel some type of way but you have yet to feel passion that blew you away.
"Just so I know what I can look for for you." She said grinning as she waited for your answer.
"Probably a few months ago." You said, lying through your teeth. In all honesty you haven't in over a year. It didn't bother you at all, you really had no time for that.
"Hah. I asked cause I knew you'd lie." Eva said, still beaming a smile at you, letting out a laugh.
"How'd you know?" You asked, letting yourself laugh too.
"You have a tell when you lie, your left eyebrow raises slightly and you smirk a little." She said pointing at your lip. You didn't know you did that either, you had to keep an eye on that from now on.
"How are things with Kuroo by the way?"
"Besides the fact that I hate him, we're pretty much done with the lab and I won't see him until next week." You said back, clenching your teeth. Why did the thought of him make you so mad? You had a petty little feud with him and you thought it would be done by now.
"I still think you should fuck him. I feel like you two would have chemistry. Hah. Chemistry get it." She laughed getting up from your bed and putting her shoes back on. "Just think about it, there's nothing wrong with it, just let it sit in the back of your head for now."
"No Eva." You said shaking your head. "Not gonna happen."
"You never know," she said, winking, reaching down to pick up her bag from the floor, "babes, I'm gonna head out now, text me tomorrow when you wake up and everything."
"Yeah I will see ya." You said back.

"Kozume, how the hell do you do this and school at the same time." You ask about playing on one of his consoles. You were a mild gamer and nothing compared to what Kenma was. He already was in the works of creating his own gaming company and had tons of ideas, and he was only a first year in his program.
You looked at him with his grown out bleach tipped hair that was put up into a man bun. He had his headphones around his neck and wore the hoodie he always wore when the two of you hung out.
"I don't y/n, but it's my way of life." He said sitting on his bed staring at the tv you were playing on.
"SHIT NO NO! DAMN IT. I can never get past this level." You say as you ended up dying and had to restart playing from the beginning.
"That's funny because Kuroo can't get past that level either." He chuckled, grabbing the controller from you and changing the game.
"Why do you always bring him up? Kenma we're not going to be friends just because we're both mutual best friends with you." You said looking at him sternly. Every time you guys hang out he always seems to bring up Kuroo. It bothered you because of the way you both felt about each other, you knew the thoughts weren't pleasant.
"You don't know that, only I am the knower of all things Kuroo-Y/n-related. I like it that way." He said inserting his newest game into the console before sitting back down beside you. "You should just try talking to him, like I said a billion times, he's a nice guy. Just because you guys hate each other doesn't mean feelings don't change." Kenma said looking at you with a soft look on his face. He knew something about Kuroo and was hiding it from you.
"'C'mon Kenma, never in my wildest dreams." You said nudging him slightly on the arm to not distract him from his game.
"Whatever y/n, you'll see one day." He said, with his whole focus on the game.
You watched Kenma play intently and heard a phone go off. You went to check who it is but it wasn't yours, it was Kenma's. He was obviously way too focused on his game to even be the slightest bit concerned on who could be texting him so you checked who it was from.
Kuroo Tetserou
Ken, just don't tell her what I said alright?
Pls. Keep it b/w us I'll figure something out.
I don't want y/n to know about it.
Know about what. You furrowed your brow and got annoyed. Why was HE talking about you, what was Kenma hiding from you. What the hell could he be hiding and why would he need to figure something out. Whatever, not my problem, you thought as you put the phone down and went back to sit beside Kenma. You got another controller and decided to join him.
Of course you were an amateur compared to him but he didn't mind at all. He liked to help whenever you were in trouble with games, and he was the same in person. Kenma's the one person you could feel yourself be vulnerable with and let out all your emotions. He was your emotional support and he was your comfort when you couldn't find any at home. Sometimes you'd even spend the night at his house when you didn't want to go back home. You and Kenma had this special platonic bond that you couldn't find anywhere at home. He meant a lot to you and you hated sharing him with the one person you hated the most.
Of course, there were the occasions where you and Kuroo would be at Kenma's house at the same time and it bothered you a lot but you just wouldn't engage in conversations with each other and weren't bothered to even make eye-contact. You still managed to be best friends with him despite all of the bitterness from his other childhood best friend.
You checked the time and it was already 6:47pm, you had to be back at your dorm by 7:30 so you could get ready for the party at 8:00. You enjoyed your time with Kenma, even though it really was just playing video games and chit chatting about life updates and problems.
"Hey Kenma," he paused the game and looked at you with a questioning face, "just promise me you won't keep any more secrets that you aren't already keeping from me. Please." You said to him resting your head on his shoulder.
"I never lie to you about anything y/n, you know that." He said running his fingers through your hair.
"Be safe okay, call me if you need anything." Kenma said hugging you in the parking lot.
"I'll be with Eva, I'll be fine." You said as you pulled away and got into your car.
"They don't know you there y/n, please be safe." He said looking at you with his puppy dog eyes.
"Yes Kozume, I'll text you when I'm leaving, when I get there and when I'm home I promise." You said giving him a reassuring smile.
"You better."
You had fun today with Kenma. But you still couldn't get Kuroo's text out of your mind. What the hell was he hiding from you?
