This is the question and answer segment. Some of my readers reached out to me and asked some questions about this book. I know it's a sad short story so a lot of questions were left unanswered but I really hope these questions do help.

Mattiekun asked, Q: Why didn't you explain much about his mother? She wasn't really in his life.

A: Umm the reason why I did that was because I intended to keep it a short story. And I felt like, if I had added more about her to the story, it would have become longer than I intended for the story to be.

@Beautiful_Person asked, Q: why didn't you let them meet at least once after her disappearance?

A: Oh, that's a nice one. I always intended to kill off Layla. For someone who was kind of a main character, she wasn't really in the book. Without Layla's disappearance, this version of Martin that you know wouldn't exist.

lol_stfubishh asked, Q: Why exactly did you have to kill Mrs Goldy?

A. Mrs Goldy was kind of the only standing mother figure in Martin's life all because his own mother had been hospitalized for a very long time. Frankly, she was very old and I needed to find a way for Martin to get his mother back into his life. So the next person to turn to was Mrs Goldy.

lol_stfubishh asked, Q: what exactly made you think of writing this book.

A: it was just some days before my birthday last year and I was feeling extremely down because I remembered the death of my best friend so I decided to write something sad. That's all.

akill_diego101 asked, Q: How did you come up with the title of the book?

A: That's a good one. I was scrolling through canva and I saw the picture with various umbrellas. I thought about how the blue umbrella was kinda in the background and how it would be nice to write about a girl with a blue umbrella.

Ya-Know_who  asked, Q: Will there be an alternative ending?

A: I mean, if you guys want an alternative ending then sure. I could write one. But it'll have to be a 'majority carries the vote' kinda situation. So if majority of the people who have read this book and are satisfied with the way it ended just like I am, then there won't be an alternate ending. But if you are curious or interested in knowing what would have happened if Layla didn't die, you can vote for an alternate ending. (Comment 'yes' here if you want an Alt ending, comment 'no' if you don't.)

Ya-Know_who asked, Q: why didn't you tell us more about his personal life? It felt like there was no Martin if Layla didn't go missing.

A: Wow. Umm... how to answer that... Martin never really lives an easy life. He always tried to work hard in whatever it was that he did. It was the same thing that happened today that happened yesterday, for him. His life was basically monotonous. It all then changed when someone he cared about went missing and he realized all the thing he never knew was happening. In my opinion, and not just as the author of this book, I felt like Martin also went through a journey of self discovery. He was independent and hardworking, he genuinely cared for others and he realized how naive he was towards the world that surrounded him.

Well this is all for now. If you still have questions, you can comment them and I'll answer or you can send me a message privately. I really hope some of your questions were answered. Thank you all so much for giving this book a chance 🥂
