(If you haven't read the Percy Jackson series and the sequels, you may not understand everything that goes on. Just a warning that's going to be at the start of every chapter.)
I was slowly becoming more and more aware of the fact that people may DIE if I make the wrong decision, I got interrupted since I had to quickly get ready for this thing that I'd been waiting for ever since I got here. I wore a white t-shirt and some jeans. I also packed some ambrosia and nectar, some golden drachmas (god money) and dollar bills (human money), some water and Coca Cola (sneaked in by the friendly people from the Hermes cabin, the ones who liked me) and some food and I took a sword, a bow and arrow kit and a gun (just in case, even though I'm not the best at it). Hecate (titan of magic) kids enchanted our bags to fit anything and not be heavy, which really really helped.
Then, I waited for the other 2 to get ready and meet me at Thalia's ex-tree. After a few minutes, they arrived too. Lisa wore a black sleeveless t-shirt and black jeans, with a denim jacket around her waist. Maya just wore what she usually wears i.e. an orange top and some jeans with her fake feet and cap. Yes, we are all big on jeans.
Then, we were led to Argus, the guard person of the camp, (who has literal eyes on every part of his body, which is why he was made the guard person) who was going to take us to the van which will be our mode of transportation until we get to another mode. He's probably going to drop us at the bus station.
The ride there, Lisa sat in the middle, I sat on the right and Maya sat on the left. Lisa made some feeble attempts to make conversation, but we were all too nervous to talk, and Argus never talks because he has been rumored to have eyes on his tongue too. That must be really uncomfortable.
Anyways I was just looking out the window, trying to soak in the fact that I was going to go in a quest that's actually really important. It must be a different, why would Chiron and all trust lives on the three of us, especially considering the fact that we haven't ever been on a quest ourselves. I continued thinking similar thoughts.
Then, the car stopped, and it was time for us to be on our own. As we were leaving, I saw Argus nod to Lisa once, and once Maya was out, he turned and left us.
'We're on our own from now.'
I said that out loud, didn't I?
'We could always send an Iris message to them,' said Lisa.
Yep I did.
(Also, for all you mortals, an Iris message is a way to send a message, similar to video-calling, that's used by demigods. If you have a rainbow, and a golden drachma, you can throw the drachma into the rainbow while saying 'Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering.' while thinking deeply about who we want to call, and then their side will pop up in the rainbow, if they drop in a drachma too. Then voila, you can talk to them until your time runs out (after which you can drop in another golden drachma) or the rainbow is gone. Demigods, like me, use this, since using a phone or any type of modern day technology is like popping a firework which reads 'Hey! I'm right here if you wanna come here.' So, we use stuff like this to communicate.)
'Yeah, but like we are mostly on our own. We can't expect them to lead us every step of the way.'
'Yeah true, I suppose. Anyways, where next?'
'I don't know, you're the leader.'
'Great.'
Maya said, 'I think if we walk for a bit, we can come across a shop that hopefully has a map of some sort.'
Lisa said, 'Ok sure.'
So, we started walking, until we reached an area with a lot of mortals.
I really shouldn't call humans mortals, since I'm a mortal too technically and animals too. But like it's nice so I won't stop.
