Several months had gone by since Hinata and Atsumu had ended things. Atsumu had confessed to Sakusa and they had started dating. They were pretty clingy and lovey with each other, or well at least Atsumu was.

He would walk to practices holding on to Sakusa and be his typical touchy-feely self.

Hinata couldn't help but feel a bit jealous and heart-broken seeing them together. He wanted that. Not necessarily with Atsumu but just with someone.

A few weeks went on. One Day Bokuto and Hinata walked into practice realizing that Atsumu and Sakusa weren't the same and usual. Atsumu was oddly distant from Sakusa and Sakusa seemed more annoyed than usual at Atsumu's upset attitude and playfulness.

Needless to say, they were a bit concerned about this development and didn't want it to affect the team.

Bokuto and Hinata came up with an idea to go get to the bottom of it after practice. Hinata would go talk to Sakusa while Bokuto talked to Atsumu. After practice, Hinata went to go find Sakusa. He was in the bathroom with his hands. Hinata stood against the wall casually thinking of how exactly to start the conversation.

"So." He started. "How are things with you and Atsumu?" He asked.

Sakusa turned to him, pulling his mask back over his mouth.

"We broke up." He said flatly.

Hinata pushed himself off the wall a bit.

"You... Broke up?" He asked, a bit confused.

"Yeah, I got tired of his constant flirting with everyone. He didn't seem to care if it made me feel bad or jealous." Sakusa said and started to head out of the bathroom

He stopped and turned to Hinata and stared at him and an idea floated through his head.

"I want to make him feel the way I felt. Would you consider having a fake relationship with me to get back at him?" Sakusa asked, leaving Hinata both confused and uncertain.

Hinata thought for a moment. His head raced with ideas. He didn't like this idea but... He didn't hate it either. It wasn't like Atsumu hadn't also hurt him. He inevitably decided to reluctantly agree to the Fake relationship idea with Sakusa.

"What would we do?" Hinata asked about taking up Sakusa's offer.

"Just ask like we're dating. We can go on a few dates here and there. Be sure that he knows we're together." Sakusa explained.

Hinata slowly nodded in agreement and thus their fakeship began. It started with them walking into the Gym for practice together holding hands. At first, it was quite evident that this seemed to get the attention of Atsumu.

Then it progressed to them doing things outside of practice. They went to dinner, movies and sometimes walked in the park.

This turned into them also doing some one on one training together. They would do blocking practice and go on jogs together. Somewhere down the line, Hinata began to feel actual feelings towards Sakusa. The small habits he had picked up on and mannerisms that he had.

Meanwhile, Atsumu had begun to get closer to him again. It started with the occasional Flirtatious text that Sakusa would tell Hinata about as proof that their fake relationship was working. Hinata began to feel the same familiar sting in his chest knowing that this was only a falsity.
