Sun is shining in the sky,
there ain't a cloud in sight.
It stopped raining,
everybody's in the play,
and don't you know, it's a beautiful new day,
hey hey hey
I was laying on my bed listening to music when I heard a faint yell.
"Ember!! Ember! Ember Stark!" ughhhh, I thought.
"Coming!" I got off my bed as slowly as I could and walked to my door. I wanted to take my sweet time, so I walked down the stairs like a snail. I could see my dad rubbing his face in annoyance.
"What?" I asked, "I came downstairs, didn't I? Now what do you need," I stood there staring at him intently trying to get a sense of what he needed. But, my father was almost impossible to read.
"I want you to meet the newest Avenger," my father said in a calm tone. Almost too calm- like he wanted to look good.
"Is it some old dude? Ooo, or a girl! Wait, do they have powers?"
"No, no, and yes." I looked at him with uncertainty. It seemed like everybody he declared an "Avenger" was either an old guy or a girl.
"How young?" He looked at me and began looking at the wall next to me, as if to avoid eye contact.
"Let's just say he's around your age." What does he mean around my age? I'm 15. The youngest Avenger was Wanda and even she was around 24 years old. (Don't expect me to keep track of all of their ages)
My dad took me into the other room where I saw a guy with his back to me. Great. So he's not my age.
And that's when he turned around. Holy. Shit.
I mean, my dad wasn't wrong. He certainly was my age.
"Hi. I'm Peter. Peter Parker," He looked a little nervous and I didn't know why until I look to the right and saw my dad staring at him with daggers.
"I'm Ember."
"Ember or Amber?"
"Ember," I said with a chuckle.
"Oh," he said with a slight laugh.
"May I ask how old you are?" I was honestly curious to know this kids age.
"15. And you?"
"15." My dad seriously recruited a 15 year old? That's completely unlike him.
"Not to be rude or anything, but why in the world did my dad recruit you?"
"Oh," he said running his fingers through his hair nervously, "Well I was um bitten by a radioactive spider which kinda gave me powers. If you wanna call them that."
"What kind of powers?"
"I can stick to things, I have super strength, and all of my senses were enhanced."
"So if I screamed right now it would really hurt your ears?" I asked with a small grin of mischief.
"Yes. So please don't do it," he said with a shy laugh.
And that's when Natasha decided to walk into the room.
"So, I see you met Parker," she said smirking at me. I just rolled my eyes at her.
"Wait, you guys already met him? How long has he been here?"
"Just since yesterday," my dad responded.
"Since yesterday? And nobody bothered to tell me?!"
"You're always stuck up in your room," my dad said.
"Well you could've texted me or something!" I said annoyed.
"Oh yeah, I'm sure that would've helped."
"Whatever," I said facing Peter and turning my back to my dad. "Well, it was nice to meet you. Imma go back to my room now."
"Oh, then you can show Peter his room," my dad said with a smug look on his face.
"Ugh, fine. Where is it?"
"Right across from yours." I gaped at him with wide eyes.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. His room is the room across from yours. Now go and show him." I groaned while walking off in the direction of the stairs.
"Well are ya comin or not, Parker?" I was starting to get really annoyed.
"Oh, yeah, right." We both walked up the stairs and down the hall in silence.
"Here's your room," I said stopping in between the two doors.
"Thanks."
"Your welcome," I said after I had closed the door to my own room.
