~*~PRUE'S POV~*~

It's been three days...when is he going to get the hint?

I don't want to see him.

Every day he comes to my room.

And every day Shanley asks the same question, "Do you want to see him?"

My answer is always the same. I tuck myself in a ball and shake my head; she sighs and leaves to tell him.

His response is to throw things outside my room for a while. Not caring who gets hurt. Screaming profanities at everyone, including Shanley.

I whimper every time and it's like he can hear me because he immediately stops. But I know he can't. There's no way that an alpha would suddenly stop because I got scared. I'm not that important.

It's like clockwork. Three times a day, at eight, one, and six.

After his tantrum he lets out a frustrated sigh and leaves.

There are some things that have me deeply confused though.

Why would an Alpha keep insisting that I was his mate when he literally could have anyone else?

What would be his gain in that?

Even though I agreed with Shanley when she confirmed that he was my mate, I still don't believe it. I think she knows that I don't believe it.

Regardless it's not like I can have a mate, not without a wolf anyway, especially an alpha.

The only logical answer would be that he is positively bat-shit crazy.

I am however grateful that he is letting Shanley stay with me. She still hasn't told me who Max is to her yet.

Every time I bring it up it's almost like she is scared of how I will react. So I let it go every time in hopes that she will tell me soon.

A week has passed now. I still know nothing and the Alpha keeps showing up.

I'm still laid up in the hospital. They said I would be released tomorrow. Where would I go? Back home?

No, I don't have a home now, I'm a rogue. Sadly though, pack laws don't see it that way.

I watch the clock.

Ten seconds until eight....

Is today the day he doesn't show up? Of course not, he always shows.

Five seconds...

Doesn't he have better things to do, he is Alpha after all.

I can hear him entering, today though his footsteps thunder in determination. Shanley obviously hears him too because she looks to me in question.

I give my head a shake and turn back around.

"You know you're going to have to face him sometime." She said.

'Not now.' I reply weakly.

Shanley slowly exits before he reaches my room.

"She doesn't want to see you today Mason."

"I don't care it's been a week!" He yells.

I hear him try and walk past her.

"I said she doesn't want to see you. You're only going to make it worse!" Her voice is closer now.
