~*Prue's POV*~

I was numb. Unable to move to let those around me know I'm alright. In some sort of void that no matter how hard I try, I can't escape the darkness...trapped in my own mind. Time is non-existent here.

Many times I have thought about letting myself be consumed by this darkness and giving up, but I couldn't...no, I wouldn't. I don't know if I was holding on for Shanley, or that strange voice, or even that beautiful man that haunted my dreams.

All I know is that I am alone with nothing to keep me company but my own thoughts...and it was terrifying.

My hearing came back a couple days ago, it made it easier to tell how long I have been here. I have heard doctors and nurses coming in and out of my room, constantly checking on me. That was one indication that I wasn't in my packs territory. I was lucky to have a nurse check to see if I'm still alive twice a week, let alone twenty times a day.

The second indication was that I couldn't recognize anyone else's voice other than Shanley's. She comes to visit me every day for long periods of time, talking to me in my coma-like state about nonsense that makes me mentally smile.

She hasn't mentioned anything about me running away yet. I think it has something to do with the other two men that always accompany her. They don't talk much.

She talks about someone named Max and by the way she tells the stories I can tell she's infatuated by him. I was praying that he was a warrior so he didn't break Shanley's heart.

She also speaks of the Alpha of the pack occasionally, saying things along the line of him being a narcissistic asshole and a worry wart which causes an annoyed growl to emanate from the other side of the room. I guessed he was the Alpha but the question that sat in the back of my mind was why he was even here.

I have tried mind linking with her but all to no avail. There was a block in my mind that this darkness would not let me get past just yet.

I had fallen asleep, if that's what you could even call it, and when I came to I felt a tingling sensation in my right hand.

Maybe I was regaining movement! I became excited and tried to move or even open my eyes. I was depressed to find out that I still couldn't. Things changed though, my body felt lighter and I could feel the presence of someone to my right.

I wait for Shanley to start telling me stories like she does every day, but...she doesn't. I wait for what seems to be hours in silence and in those hours I started regaining feeling in my numb body.

At first it was a relief, but after I could feel my chest, I wished I couldn't again. I was in pain but it was strangely bearable which made me wonder how long I had been here. I could now feel that the strange tingling ended up being Shanley's hand.

Weird.

When I tried to connect to Shanley again through the mind link, I found that it wasn't being blocked like before.

'Hey Shanley, how long have you been here?' I asked.

'Prue! You're up!' She cheered excitedly.

'Almost. Why are you using the mind link? Is someone else in the room with us?'

'Um, Prue?' She said.

'Hm?'

'I'm in the food court.'

'Then who is...'
