I walked on the crowded streets of Knight Land in a simple purple shirt and jeans with my red hair pulled back in a high ponytail. I loved walking in the streets in simple clothes so that no one would recognise me. I loved blending in and not acting as if I were a snob, like all the other royal people did.
Amelia, on the other hand, had worn a bright red halter top with a black leather mini skirt and black high heels. Her yellow hair was curled and loose on her shoulders. Her face was covered with a thin layer of make-up. I had to admit, she looked beautiful. It earned quite a few stares from the men passing by.
"Why do you roam in these streets again?"
I rolled my eyes at her. "To determine the problems of the common people and find out possible solutions to them. Also, I like roaming around like a normal girl, without attracting attention."
She smiled and shook her head. I saw a couple walking by, holding hands and smiling. I saw Amelia look at them with a kind of longing in her eyes.
"How's Kevin?" I asked, trying to keep my voice even.
"Oh, you know. Same old, same old."
I smiled slyly. "Oh really? Because I remember seeing him make out with another girl behind the main square fountain and you caught them. You shouted at him and broke it off. Am i right?"
She sighed. "Why do I always fall for the bad guys?"
"They use you because of your position and of course, your outer appearance. You need to stop all this hook up nonsense and focus on your training. I'm not saying not to have fun but not all this nonsense."
"You're right. Its just that my father is always busy with state affairs that he barely spends time with me. Mom is there and she helps me with my training. But it would be good to spend time with dad too."
"Don't worry about it. You need to sit and talk it out with him. I'm sure your father will understand." I put my arm around her shoulder and we walked down the street. The sun was setting, the sky looked awesome.
"How are you so wise? We are the same age."
I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders in response. I stopped suddenly, pulling her behind with me. She looked at me, confused. She was about to say something but I put my finger to her lips, indicating her to be quiet. There were a only a handful of people on this street so it was easy for anybody to follow us. The sky was dark now and the street lights provided enough light to make out the silhouette of the person hiding behind a wall.
"What is happening?" Amelia whispered. I gave her a 'shut up' look. I pointed to the silhouette at the front. Her eyes widened as realisation set in. A massive beast jumped right from behind the wall. The beast was enormous with sharp canine teeth and rough, brown fur. His grey eyes glinted dangerously in the dark. His jaw formed into a snarl. There was a scar that ran over its left eye.
I shoved Amelia behind me. "Stay out of this. Don't scream or call for help." She looked like she wanted to argue with me but seemed to decide against it. I turned my attention to the beast. I looked around too see if there was anyone there on the streets. To my relief, there was nobody.
The beast seemed to take its time. It was in no hurry. It slowly advanced towards me. A line of fire appeared in front of me, acting as a temporary barrier. The beast seemed to be taken by surprise, but i knew it wouldn't last long. I had to transform into an armour, but which one? After a few thoughts, the correct armour struck my mind.
The line of fire disappeared and I transformed into my Saintess Armour. Clad in a silver armour and matching boots, my white wings extended behind with a sword formation at my command, I was ready to slay this beast. I extended my arms towards the demons, forming the plan in my mind. The swords swooped down and formed a cage-like structure around the beast, the sharp ends pointed at it. "One more step and I kill you." I stated, my voice resonating.
The beast frantically looked around, trying to find a way to escape. I willed my swords to close in a little more, giving the beast no space to move. The beast snarled at me again. I smirked.
"Its no use snarling at me. You will not be able to get out of it."To my utmost surprise, the beast slowly started to transform. The hair on his body diminished, the canines started to disappear, his bent back started to straighten. When the transformation was over, a handsome, naked, young man stood inside my sword formation.
"That is......" Amelia started, her voice stuttering.
"Yes. It is him."
