PART 2

Christina didn’t know what to do. She was looking at herself in her big bathroom mirror. She felt like she was looking at a stranger. What Adam Levine had offered keeps her tense. She wanted to agree on his proposal yet she felt like he was just using her to get over her slutty ex-girlfriend. He could feel Adam’s sincerity when he asked her to be his girlfriend, but she thought why is he rushing things so fast?

The next day on The Voice, Christina was late for about 10 minutes. Everyone was already set up. She didn’t say hi to anyone. She couldn’t look at Adam’s side while Adam kept looking at her, worried. Cee-lo knew something’s wrong while Blake talked to Christina about fishing.

“When are we going fishing?” he asked the sexy singer.

“How ‘bout next weekend? I’ll bring Max,” she replied back smiling now feeling a little bit comfortable.

“Sure. That’s fun! Hey, you two, you should come with us also!” Blake invited the other coaches, Cee-lo and Adam. Christina just looked at Blake surprised. She doesn’t mind if they would come with them but with Adam, she thought. Ugh, this isn’t going to be good.

“Sure,” Adam responded with a little smile on his face. He knew that Christina isn’t really up with him going with them fishing, but he can’t afford to let this moment pass. He wants Christina. He knows Christina sees this as a wrong idea or that he’s only using her to get over Behati, but deep inside him, he knows what he truly feels for Christina. He’s falling in love her. He loves it when they fight, their banters, the tension between them; he likes ‘em! It makes him feel really close to her. And now that Blake has offered him to come with them, it’s time to get the work done.

After the set, Christina headed straight home. She didn’t want to get caught up in a conversation or anything with Adam. While sitting on her bed, she kept on thinking why her. Why would Adam choose her to do his little game? He could use another girl. What does he think of her? She felt mad at him. She’s mad with all of this. Then, she got text message from Adam:

Hey, Chrissy! I’m right here in front of your house! Would you like to let me in?

Christina looked out her window. She saw Adam standing right beside his car waiting for her to open up the gate. What the hell is he doing here, she thought. She rushed downstairs to open the gate.

“Why are you here?” she asked with gritted teeth.

“Just want to see you.”

“Hell, you just saw me on the set.”

“You didn’t talk to me. You didn’t even look my way. All you did was talk to Blake and Cee-lo, ignored me the whole time. I was jealous.”

“You know what, Adam ----“ Adam cut her off.

“You know what, Christina, if you just agree on my proposal. We’ll be ok. I promise you, you won’t regret this!”

“And how did you know I won’t regret it?”

“I’m so damn ready to catch you when you fall, darling,” he said with a wink.

Christina, as much as she wants to agree with him, there’s a part of her that still doubts Adam’s intentions on this matter.

“Christina, just please, give this a chance. I won’t hurt you,” Adam begged.

“Why me, Adam? You can ask other girls out there, and I’m pretty sure they’ll agree on you.”

“No, I want you. Don’t push other girls out there, I know better. ”

“Whatever.”

“So, can I come in?”

“No, you go home! Agreeing with your little game is enough for tonight,” she said to him with a wink.

Adam went home pleased at the same time disappointed that Christina didn’t let him in. But, he didn’t want to rush things. He was glad Christina agreed on it. He marked the date Christina agreed to be with him, November 18. He made a note on his phone, December 18, the day Christina will decide if we’ll go or stop. Exactly falls right on her birthday.

After a week, everything was alright between Christina and Adam. They were throwing jokes at each other like what they’re used to. Christina felt a little weird to be so close at Adam at first, but she likes it. They way Adam holds her hand, the way he tells his flaws like he’s so thankful to have them, the way he cracks up at her jokes, and most especially, the way he looks at her every time she enters the set, it feels like she’s the only person in there that can hold his attention for so long.

“Hey, boo!” Blake snapped in front of Adam’s face. Adam’s thoughts went back to reality.

“You were looking at her so damn bad! She’s melting, man!” Blake said in his usual prank voice.

“Shut up, Blake!”

“So, what’s up with the two of you?” Cee-lo stepped in to their conversation.

“We’re good. Everything falls into place like how I wanted it.”

“You serious about her?”

“Why you keep on asking me this Cee? Of course, I am.”

“Oh well, here goes the problem,” Cee-lo said as he watched Behati approaching them. Adam was surprised to see her. He didn’t know why she’s here at all.

Christina saw her walking her way to the three boys. She held her breath for a moment. She didn’t know what to do. She watched as Behati hugged Adam and him hugging her back. She could feel herself losing it. She ran down to the bathroom. She didn’t know if any of the boys saw her. She felt tears falling down her eyes. This is it. This is what she’s afraid of……
