When the serpent granted the monster's wish, she had told her family, but not suggested they fled to it.
One day, men came, seeking the monster. They had captured her husband and forced him to tell them where the monster hid. When he told them she was his wife, they thought he was under a spell, cast upon him by the monster.
The men searched the forest and found the house.
The monster told her daughter to stay inside, and the monster turned all the men to stone. Her daughter stayed, watching through the window.
The monster walked to the shore and a void opened and she walked in.
