The Broken Rule:

Cygnus Past (Chapter 4)

It is a sunny day and Paris and Cygnus are standing in the shining grey castle of the kingdom of Equality and Truth. In front of them is the throne of the Queen of Equality. She is sitting there and talking with a counselor. They get interrupted by a child who is ruining to the Queen. He is laughing and holding something. He is wearing a little crown and screams: "Mommy, mommy I got a present for you. It is really tasty and I want you to try it, too." It is Cygnus as a child. He jumps on the lab of his mother and she gives him a big smile and greets him with a kiss on his check. She shows the counselor a sign to leave and they are left alone. "What do we have here, my warrior? Uhh chocolate, I will try it, okay, but only if you eat it with me?" her voice is graceful and strong, but at the same time soft. Little Cygnus nods his head and they both take a piece of the chocolate and eat it at the same time. "Noo mom don't do this!" Cygnus screams and falls down to his knees. He breaks down in tears. Paris doesn't know what is going on, but she finds it out as the Queen coughs. Her tongue starts to swallow and she starts to suffocate. "Cy-cygnus he-help." she mumbles. Little Cygnus starts to cry and screams: "Mo-mommy? Mommy is everything alright? Mommy speak to me. MOMMY!?" He screams as loud as he can. Some maids her him, but as they enter the room it is to late. The Queen died with her little son sitting on her lap crying his eyes out. His eyes changed crystal blue and never change back to yellow. As the maids go to him they say that Cygnus gave the Queen chocolate with nuts. The Queen was highly allergic to nuts, but never told anyone about it except for the maids and her cook. Her own son killed his mother by accident and as the maids tried to put little Cygnus away from the dead body of his mother, he got furious and punched every person that tried to touch him or his mother. After that day Cygnus changed and his eyes were always orange. He started to kill every other kingdom and put them in the same misery as he did. He wanted everybody to feel his pain. So that is how the King of War was made and how the kingdom of Equality and truth died. 

Paris stares at Cygnus who is on his knees and cries. "I am sorry mother, I am soo sorry. I am a murderer and I deserve to feel this pain. I am sorry, I disappointed you, mother. I wanted to be a good King, but I failed. I want you back, mother. I deserve to die, not you, mother." He looks at his mother and screams in pain. Paris goes on her knees and hugs Cygnus. She whispers in his ear: "We need to go, Cygnus. This is the past. You need to let go." Cygnus gets furious and pushes Paris away. "NOO!" He screams with his flaming orange eyes and runs to his mother to hug her a last time, but Paris snips with her fingers and they are back in her castle in front of the mirror of Cygnus's past. He falls down to his knees and punches the mirror: "WHYY!?" he screams as his hand starts to bleed. His blood drops on the floor and Paris is watching him. "Cygnus" she calls him. "What!?" he replies. Paris takes a deep breath. "Did you forget why we are here?" his eyes turn yellow and he immediately stands up. "She will live, won't she?" he looks curious at Paris and she nods. He runs to Paris and hugs her. Paris hugs him back and says: "But before we go there, you need to promise me something." "I will promise you everything as long as I can see my mother." He answers eagerly. "Remember that you can't stay forever in the mirror. I know you will want to stay there forever, but you can't. My powers are mightily, but even I can't keep the mirrors agleam forever. I will push you out of the mirror if I need to and you need to promise me not to be mad at me." Cygnus looks down and goes some steps backwards. He gets on his knees and stares with his crystal light blue eyes at the floor, he slowly says: "I promise, my Queen. But may I ask you to help me afterwards with hugging me?" Paris looks shocked down. The Kind of War, the most ruthless guy in the whole world just showed honor towards her. "I will fix your broken heart, but this process takes a lot of time, but for now I will show you your dream reality." She sticks out her hand towards to Cygnus and  helps him out to get up. As they touch each other hands Cygnus hand immediately stops bleeding and gets healed.  Paris needs some moments to concentrate and her heads flinches. "Is- is everything okay?" Cygnus asks her and she points to a mirror. "Yeah yeah it just takes a lot of energy out of me to show you such a huge change. Don't worry about me." she gives him a slight smile which changes his eye color to yellow. They both go in to the mirror.

Paris and Cygnus look around. They stand in front of a huge map, which shows every kingdom in the whole world. "Cygnus" a woman screams. Paris and Cygnus turn around to see the Queen of Equality. Cygnus starts to cry happy tears and runs to his mother to hug her. His mother looks around and screams: "Cygnus come here. This is very important. You can't always come late, you are going to be the King of Equality one day. You can't attend late or everybody will think that they can attend late, too." "Yeah mother, I am here. I didn't find my crown. My beloved sister had hide it somewhere." answers Cygnus from the mirror, his eye color is yellow, like it was always as he was a child. "So what did you want to show me mother?" he continues. His mother takes his hand and goes eagerly to the map. "I finished my goal." She says smiling and wishes over the map. Some sings appear on the map, that are produced by her magic. Cygnus looks at her and before he can ask, his mother continues: "You see I solved every war between every kingdom, so now every kingdom gets treated equally. I brought peace to the whole world. " She turns to Cygnus and takes his hands. She starts to cry happy tears. "It is now your mission to keep peace in every kingdom. You need to protect my work." The real Cygnus starts to cry and stumbles: "I- I destroyed my mother's dreams. I- I am a failure." Cygnus goes back and falls down from the mirror. He falls hard to the ground of reality. His crown falls down with him. Paris gets out of the mirror and closes it. She stares at Cygnus, who is breaking down in tears like a little child. She gets on her knees and hugs Cygnus, who is now putting his head against Paris's shoulder and lets his emotions run free.
