Red Flame

Chapter 4

I seized my flames; I have no clue how. But seeing Thor up close and personal, hammer and all, made me weary. And I was afraid he would smash me to pieces. Loki continued his glare at me. Beside Thor was a man, I knew well. My dad, Hades. He looked pitiful. Like he regretted sending me away. But he knew what he was doing. Unlike Loki, who had no clue what he was doing, or maybe he did, and he did not care. Thor walked towards me. His eyes sizing me up. Loki grinned at him. He was an idiot. I did not like him like I thought I would. I use to dream about meeting Loki, and now I did not want to know him.

"Oh my god," Anna said, she was obsessed with Thor. Thor was an older god, but he would pass for a few years older than me. Thor turned his attention to Anna.

"And who is this beautiful mortal?"

"This is my sister, Anna, who your idiot brother almost killed," I said looking at Loki. He rolls his eyes. Thor looked at me in a confused glare.

"How did he do that exactly," He asked. Loki did not answer him, I did.

"While we took the portal here, he forgot to mention it was rough on humans, he didn't warn us," I said. Thor looked at Loki. He threw his hands up in defeat.

"Loki, when you portal a human, always tell them the truth, it can cause effects, tell her you're sorry," Thor spoke. Loki opened his mouth as if to protest.

"My apologies, but I am the god of Mischief," He said. I rolled my eyes. Anna was still staring at Thor. She was amazed by him. Maybe she knew him in another life. It was as if, she was starstruck. I was still confused.

"Thor, just wandering, just how strong are you," Anna asked. She did not look good. He smiled and put his hammer down. Something in her face broke. She looked, weak. Thor noticed it too. And in that moment, she collapsed but not before he caught her. She had passed out, cold. I knew she would, but not because of him, because Loki did not want us about that stupid portal. But Loki almost looked scared and sorry. I ignored him for a moment. Thor grabs Anna up, with no problem, and he runs with her. I didn't think to follow, he was to fast. Loki stepped over to me.

"He's taking her to the infirmary, follow me," He said. I hesitated. But I didn't fight him. We walked quickly.

Loki got under my skin, I thought I would love the sight of him, and now, he made me so angry. My sister was in the infirmary because of him. He could've warned me ahead of time. I could have protected her, or could I have? I didn't know. Maybe it was purposely. Maybe he didn't want me to change my mind, as I would have. Maybe he genuinely wanted to protect us, but he was a prick. On our way there, Loki nods to many guards on duty. There were women, men, anyone who wanted to be in battle could be. And I loved that they weren't to picky as to what gender could fight.

We reached the infirmary. Thor was keeping a close watch on Anna. Maybe he liked her? He did seem smitten when she came in. He didn't give me two looks. Hades was behind me; he hadn't said anything. He just followed. Loki looked at Hades, and then me. He seemed, unsure. Of what? I did not know, but he didn't seem to be excited. Or maybe that was just him. He did not care. The lady in the infirmary took pace with Anna. Humans had fragile skin. But she only fainted. The good news, it didn't damage any major organs, just caused some nausea and the blood rushed to her head, causing her to faint.

"Are you alright," Hades asked. I nod. Loki then puts his opinion in.

"Actually, she is not okay, I'm god of mischief, I know when someone is lying, she is not okay," He said. I glared at him. Did he have to be so damn hard to get along with.

"Gabrielle, you can tell me, I know I was never there for you, but I had reasons to give you up," He said. I sighed. He was right, he had a lot of reasons, my safety, have a normal life.
