Kim Dokja loved Yoo Joonghyuk. He always had.

He had loved him from the first time he saw him, Kim Dokja had been beaten to the ground by Song Minwoo when a heroic figure had stepped into his view and before he knew it the bullies were scurrying away with the tails between their legs.

To the present, eagerly waiting for his Joonghyuk-ah beside the front gates of the school. Walking into class together was part of their routine, but today Yoo Joonghyuk was late.

After a few minutes of waiting, Yoo Joonghyuk finally arrived, holding a small bag in his hand, looking a tad bit happier than usual. A bright smile spread across Kim Dokja's face, it was rare to see Yoo Joonghyuk display that much emotion.

Being the nosy, no, curious person he was, Kim Dokja couldn't help asking.

"What in the bag?"

"Chocolate chip cookies"

This only made Kim Dokja's smile brighter, dark eyes sparkling with affection.

"Joonghyuk-ah, are those for me?"

"No. It was a gift"

Smile faltering and pupils shaking, Kim Dokja stared at the bag with a complicated expression. He recovered quickly, hopefully Yoo Joonghyuk didn't notice the brief change. Instead, he talked in a teasing tone,

"Do you have some kind of secret admirer? A lover I'm not aware of?"

Kim Dokja leaned towards Yoo Joonghyuk a bit more, hoping that his interest wasn't too blatant.

"No, they're from Lee Seolhwa"

Lee...Seolhwa? Taken aback, Kim Dokja stuttered.

"Y-you mean your ex?"

Yoo Joonghyuk simply nodded. They had mutually broken up a couple days earlier, with Lee Seolhwa wanting to focus more on her grades, there were other reasons that Yoo Joonghyuk deemed 'too private' to tell Dokja.

Kim Dokja tried to ignore the tight feeling in his chest and started to ramble on about the miscellaneous topics that ran through his mind, hoping to distract himself and Yoo Joonghyuk from the jealousy he was feeling.

Kim Dokja hoped he wasn't too obvious.

Kim Dokja was very obvious.

Yoo Joonghyuk loved to watch him squirm when he heard Lee Seolhwa's name come out of his lips, loving the fact that he could tell what Dokja was thinking. It was cute.

In fact, he purposely answered Kim Dokja vaguely, making him misunderstand Lee Seolhwa's intentions.

Lee Seolhwa was under the assumption that they had started going out after she and Yoo Joonghyuk had broken up. She had baked a batch of cookies as a sign of goodwill, wishing the new couple a happy relationship.

Yes, that was the reason that was 'too private' for Kim Dokja to hear. Yoo Joonghyuk felt as if it were too bothersome to explain to Lee Seolhwa him and Kim Dokja's relationship.

He also loved the fact that him and Kim Dokja were mistaken as a real couple. Someday they would be, but for now he silently enjoyed the other's struggle.

At some point in between classes, Yoo Joonghyuk had taken the bag out and started to silently munch on the cookies, causing a distressed and jealous look to appear on Kim Dokja's face.

"Greedy bastard, share some with me"

With a calm and indifferent expression, Yoo Joonghyuk handed Kim Dokja a cookie.

With a loud crunch, Kim Dokja bit into the cookie. The chocolate melted into his mouth, the cookie was delicious. It was sweet enough to still taste edible, and not overly salted either. The total opposite of how he was feeling at the moment.

Seeing Yoo Joonghyuk watching him, he quickly broke out into a smile.

"Don't worry Joonghyuk-ah, I'm sure yours are better"

Kim Dokja turned his attention back to the cookie, silently cursing it as Yoo Joonghyuk watched.

He thought he heard a low chuckle from Yoo Joonghyuk's direction, but when he looked over he instead saw that the other's full attention was on the cookie in his hands. Kim Dokja was probably mistaken.

Crunch.
