Paperwork.

There was tons of paperwork.

Putting down his pen, Kim Dokja put his head in his head just to take a moment to rest. He had a serious headache.

As commander of the imperial knights, he was obligated to go through all of this, this is what he has signed up for.

Of course, he thought he would be more of a daring knight in shining armor saving damsels in distress from evil wizards and the like. But the empire was peaceful. Instead he got paperwork.

Knock knock.

Kim Dokja had barely mumbled a "come in" before the door burst open.

There stood the vice commander of the knights, his trusty aid and best friend Han Sooyoung.

"Kim Dokja! I've got another one of those stupid m—"

Kim Dokja raised his hand and she stopped speaking, surprisingly.

"Please, Han Sooyoung," Kim Dokja had long given up on acting professionally and addressing the other properly when it was just the two of them, "Can you come back another time? I haven't been feeling well lately"

Han Sooyoung seemed to completely ignore the beginning of his sentence and instead plopped herself down on the couch in his office before asking, "What symptoms? We can't have you sick, the imperial knights need their handsome and courageous leader, Kim Dokja"

"Well, I've been feeling nauseous and throwing up a lot" It had been happening quite often these past few months, causing Kim Dokja to fall behind on his paperwork, leaving him in his current state of predicament.

"Maybe you're pregnant"

Han Sooyoung laughed before continuing.

"That was a joke, everyone knows that you have to have sex first"

A bit offended, Kim Dokja huffed back, "I have! Once."

A couple months back Kim Dokja had attended a masquerade ball as it was mandatory for the imperial knight commander to attend such a big event in case of emergency. A handsome stranger has coaxed him into his bed after the party, mesmerized, Kim Dokja agreed without a second thought. It was probably one of the best nights of his life.

Throughout the night, Kim Dokja had never gotten the stranger's name, or perhaps he did. He couldn't remember the details.

After explaining all this to Han Sooyoung, she simply looked flabbergasted.

Her face seemed to morph from anger to astonishment and finally disbelief.
