Jasmine got down from the taxi, looking up at the house in confusion. She glanced at the address on her phone then back up at the house, finding it hard to believe that her friend who had been on the verge of bankruptcy only months before was throwing a party in such a place and with no drunk or crazy-looking people in sight. Ruby had always been one to throw the best parties, right from their high school days so she knew for a fact that it wasn't normal for her to throw a party that the music could not be heard meters away. The neighbourhood was lacking in abundance but it was completely undisturbed and the entire scene arose suspicions in her mind.

She turned back to glance at the driver, only to find that the car was gone. She looked forward to find him tearing down the road at an unhealthy pace that was way over the speed limit. She furrowed her brows in confusion, wondering what it was about her or the place that made a seemingly decent man tear down the street without so much as a wave of farewell. She felt her pocket only to find that the money she had meant to pay for the trip remained intact and the man was too far gone to chase after.

It didn't make sense to her that he had just left but she shrugged it off, deciding to focus on the situation at hand. She needed to know where she was and whether she had gotten the right time or date so she pulled out her phone from her purse and opened her google map.

On viewing her location, her eyes widened in shock and fear. She was smack in the middle of nowhere with a beach house and nothing else in sight. She frantically searched through the other spots around the building that could be seen on the map, only to discover that she couldn't recognise a single place. There were only three houses registered on the map and each one was so widely spaced apart, it was easier to say that they belonged to different estates on their own.

Her heart started beating wildly when she went through the location's landmarks and found none besides the beach house that stood in front of her. Everything else for over four kilometers ahead was nothing but trees, forestry, and a small beach. Finally, she looked up the location and that was the last straw. The results showed in clear and big bold letters, the horror she had never imagined experiencing.

She was miles away from home and a whole town away from what was meant to have been her stop She had no clue how she had ended up where she was when she had given the driver the exact same address and directions that Ruby had sent to her. She had made sure to look up the address herself to confirm it for her own peace of mind and yet somehow the man had driven her right to the doorstep of a complete stranger then abandoned her to whatever fate she had been granted.

She made a move to dial Ruby's number as it was the most recent number on her call log and she needed to find out from her just how messed up the situation she was in was or what she possibly have done wrong. Sadly, the universe was not in favour of her decision because just as the phone started ringing, a blue sign appeared on her phone screen, letting her know that it was powering off and shutting down just before the phone light flashed green and then the screen went black.

Jasmine just stood there, staring at her screen in shock. She couldn't believe she was stranded in the middle of nowhere, in a place where literally anyone could come out of the green forestry or out of the large house and murder her in cold blood and it was then that her acclaimed smartphone chose to give up the ghost. She could agree with her subconscious that it was partly her fault since she had been using it the entire ride over, to read a novel on her favourite reading app. Cursing under breath, she dumped the thing into her school bag then looked up at the overwhelming shade of light blue, almost white that covered the building structure in such a well laid out manner that the brightness could easily be excused, and let out a sigh.
