I feel like sol would have a specific way of showing empathy. He cares deeply for the people he loves, but he's also very practical and distant, so he'd rather employ action, then try to console them.
Like, he'll wage war on creators to avenge their victims, but if you put a crying teenager in front of him, he'll just akwardly pat them on the back and hope someone else comes over.
