WEDNESDAY
"So, what are you and Trunks fighting about now?"
"Huh?" Pan blinked at Bulla, who was walking beside her on the sidewalk. They were walking to their destinations this morning since the weather was so nice.
"Come on," Bulla gave her a look. "Neither you nor Trunks came to dinner last night, and you two completely ignored each other this morning. He even left before me."
Pan frowned and fought back a huff. "He ran into Matsu yesterday."
"What?!" Bulla's eyes widened. "I was with him almost all day!"
"It's okay, Bulla. I know you did your best," Pan sighed. "It was bound to happen eventually. He met him after my art class, and I can only imagine what Matsu told him. Whatever it was, it ticked Trunks off, and then he came to CC. He was already in a bad mood, but I think I made it worse by asking him why he didn't talk to his employees. I think I embarrassed him," she murmured. "I didn't mean to, though. I know he doesn't have good social skills. I was just trying to help."
Bulla let out a small sigh. "I can understand Trunks," she said. "I don't have good social skills, either."
"What?" Pan blinked. "But you talk to everyone."
"Because I force myself to," she admitted. "Truthfully, I get so nervous before I talk to anyone at school. Except you, of course. Everyone always expects something from me," Bulla sighed. "Because I'm a Brief. It's draining, and I know Trunks feels the same way."
"Bulla," Pan said gently. She never knew Bulla felt that way. She never imagined Trunks could feel that way, but if he did, then it made sense why he was so secluded towards everyone. "I don't expect anything from you," Pan told her. "I just want you to be yourself."
Bulla smiled at her. "I know, Pan-Chan. That's why you're my best friend. It's easy for me to be myself around you and your family. I know Trunks feels the same way. I can force myself to talk to people and act like Mom, but Trunks takes after Dad and doesn't like to let his guard down. Give him some time, and I know he'll come around and realize you were just trying to help."
Pan wished that could make her feel better. Trunks had said he didn't want her help, though. Maybe it was just because Matsu made him mad. If Pan worked really hard for the rest of the week and did a good job as him, then he would see that her help wasn't so bad after all!
Pan and Bulla walked together until they reached Capsule Corp. The school wasn't that far away. They sent each other off with waves before Pan walked into the building.
It was the start of a new day, and Pan was going to make the most of it! Even if Trunks would go back to ignoring his employees after they returned to their bodies, Pan was going to be nice. She smiled at everyone and greeted them. She could see the surprised faces of the employees, but most of them were smiling by the time she walked away. That was a start!
Pan was almost to Trunks' office when Jenny appeared suddenly and blocked her way. "Mr. Brief, about that girl yesterday afternoon-"
"I told you, she's Bulla's friend. It's okay," Pan sighed, fighting the urge to roll her eyes.
"Yes, well, she stormed out of your office yesterday looking mad. I was worried that she might have hurt you. I'll make sure to keep her out of your office next time."
"That's not necessary," Pan huffed. "She didn't hurt me. We just disagreed on something-" that's was all she and Trunks ever did anymore. "I'm going to my office now."
"You have a meeting in ten minutes," Jenny called to her.
The meeting, as it turned out, was a board meeting. It wasn't anything serious, which Pan was grateful for. They talked about the upcoming quarter and new inventions. Bulma talked for both her and Trunks again, so all Pan had to do was nod in agreement. Still, she took notes so she could stay on top of what they were saying.
