The day goes on without incident, a few passing stares from people who saw the incident between me and Lewis but nothing major. As I walk out the building I can't help but be overcome by a feeling of dread about going home. My sister wouldn't be home, my mum will be at the hospital most of the day, and I can't do anything but sit back and hope for the best.
I sigh before walking out to Josh's car. Sliding into the passenger seat besides him. He shoots me a smile before we begin the silent journey back to our house. As soon as we get there, I quickly jump out of the car and go upstairs to my room, wanting to get away, away from everything as all the events from today hit me at once, I crawl into my bed and under the covers before giving into the strong desire that has been with me all day, to cry.
The night went smoothly once I calmed down, leaving my room only to eat and use the restroom. Never speaking a word unless I was asked something directly. I went to bed early to wake up to a new "beautiful day" or some bullshit like that. I went to school and sat through the same boring classes that I do every day, no incidents occurred. It is finally my last period, a few minutes left before the school day officially ended and I could spend two pointless hours in detention. As the bell rings, everyone quickly gathers their belongings in order to get home and spend the weekend doing whatever the hell they have to do. A few days of freedom before returning to the same structured life that the weekdays of a highschooler entails.
I walk out of the classroom, planning on going to my locker before asking the office where the room for detention is, when I hear a sharp whistle behind me, turning around I see none other than Lewis leaning against the wall next to the classroom door. He must see my look of confusion because he smirks. "I told you, I would meet you here, or did you forget?"
"How did you-" I start before getting ever so rudely cut off by the dark haired boy before me.
"I have my ways, come on, we have 10 minutes but I would rather not get another detention for being late to detention, or do you have to stop by your locker first,"
"I was planning on going to my locker," I state plainly.
"Alright then, let's go," he says, before grabbing my bag away from me and walking towards the direction my locker is. I jog in order to catch up with him, his long legs carrying him a lot faster than my little legs could.
"I can carry my own bag, you know," I say.
"I know," he says looking at me before smirking, "we don't need that extra weight making you any slower than you already are"
"Hey!" I yell and he laughs, a full, hearty sound that instantly kills any tension between us. I smile slightly for a moment before shaking it away and continuing with a blank expression. We walk to my locker and put my stuff away before going to spend our next two hours together.
