"What is he doing" I asked watching Smalls walking straight instead on turning left to 3rd. "I don't know" Kenny said "3rd base is that way Smalls!" Ham reminded him while walking towards us. I wonder why he didn't go to 3rd base. "Oh no no no" Smalls said while turning around. "We got to get that ball back" Smalls said really worried "Hahah yeah good one Smalls" Ham said while laughing. "No you don't understand-" Smalls said but was cut off by Benny. "Sure we do you hit a homer now we can't play no more don't worry about it" Benny said "No you don't understand that wasn't my ball!" Smalls admitted getting really worried. "What do you mean that wasn't your ball?" Squints asked him "It was my stepdad's he got it from someone. But we got to get that ball back he's going to kill me!" Smalls was very mad about this happening. "Where did your old man get that ball?" Squints asked
"I-I don't know some lady gave it to him" "Some lady?" We all said "Yeah she even signed her name on it! It was.... Ruth, Baby Ruth" he said confused "BABE RUTH?!" We all yelled and ran to the gate. I lifted Tommy so he could see, He looked at me and said "It's there for sure!" They all screamed and I grabbed Tommy and ran over to the boys pulling him down as we stopped running. "The beast got it!" Kenny said. I could convince someone to go get the ball or even wait til everyone goes home so I can just go into the backyard and throw it back over. Screw it I'm jumping over that fence. I climb the fence and everyone was confused I was at the top where they couldn't stop me at this point "Just remember...." I said like I was going to die everyone was scared.
The boys still thought I lived in the neighborhood next to theirs so after this I was definitely in deep shit since this is a pretty big lie. I jumped over and got the ball. Just stayed a little longer to be annoying. I jumped over and I made it look like I was traumatized. I was breathing very hard. Hercules jumped the fence? I thought he was chained up? "OH SHIT!" Benny said and ran as fast as I could. I went through the movies, the pool,And anything I could to end up and the sandlot again. I chucked off my hat and undid my hair and Hercules stopped and stood there. He came up to me and I petted him. Then the boys came in and were in complete shock.
