BOOM-CRACK
The deafening sound of thunder clapped for the nth time this afternoon. And the strong pitter-patter of the rain still kept going, showing no signs of stopping.
Due to the sudden thunderstorm, everyone has to stay at home to be safe and dry. Some people don't mind the storm at all, they love hearing the satisfying sounds of continuous raindrops. While some people dislike it due to the terrifying thunder.
B O O M
During this unfortunate storm, a boy wrapped around with a warm blanket sat in the middle of his bed while quietly sulking.
Creeeekkk
A woman peeked her head in through the small gap of the door.
"Mitsuba... ", she said in a worried tone.
She entered her son's room and sat on a nearby chair. She looked at her son with a concerned expression once more before saying, "I know you're supposed to be on a date today... But the storm isn't stopping any time soon..."
Mitsuba huddled deeper in his blanket to hide his sad face. He really was looking forward to his and Kou's first official date.
The mother started to panic on the inside. She doesn't want his son to be sad again, she'll definitely won't allow it!
Ah! What should I do to make him happy again?!
Then, an idea struck her mind.
"How about I make hot chocos for us, hm?", she suggested, "We could also watch any movies you want!"
She was answered with silence. However, she's not giving up.
"I can give you extra marshmallows~", she said in a sing-song way, "We can also criticize the actors' terrible acting skills if you'd like~"
Now this, this caught the pinkette's attention, "... Fine", he mumbled.
The loving mother brightly smiled at her achievement. No son of hers is getting depressed on her watch.
She quickly stood up and began to head towards their kitchen, "I'll call you when I'm done, okay, Mitsy?"
Before she could completely leave the room, Mitsuba called out for her.
"Wait-!"
His mother quickly stopped her tracks and worriedly glance at her son, "Is there something wrong?", she asked.
"Mom...
...
...
... Didn't I tell you to stop wearing that hella-lame sweater?"
"Eh?!", she exclaimed, "But I'm fine with wearing anything!"
Mitsuba playfully scoffed before laying down in a comfortable position, "I know...", he trailed off, "But after the storm's done... we should go to the mall together and buy new ones, besides... it's been a while since we've bonded, right ma?"
His mother is practically crying tears of joy after hearing his simple yet thoughtful words. She's really glad to have Mitsuba in her life, and she'll do anything to protect him.
"Right~!", she happily answered, "I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything, okay?"
And just like that, MitsuMom gently closed his son's bedroom door as she joyfully skips to the kitchen to prepare two cups of hot chocolate and a bag of popcorn.
KNOCK KNOCK
The sudden loud knock caught the mother off guard, "EEK!", she yelped.
Another heavy knock echoed throughout their apartment. The spooked woman debated whether if she should answer the door or just leave it be.
