Summary: I want all of my imagines to be happy because my babies deserved better, so here's their first Christmas together
—————————Todd loves Neil. Neil loves Todd.
They had the choice to stay at school for Christmas, telling their parents it was to get extra time to study; obviously their parents agreed, giving them their presents to open on the day instead.
It was a lie though, they stayed for each other. They stayed to get quality time together. Knox went to stay with Charlie and Pitts went to stay with Meeks, no one really cared where Cameron went.
Todd and Neil loved their alone time together, usually Todd was sat leaning into Neil, both of them reading a book together in silence. Every so often, Neil would kiss Todd's cheek or shoulder, earning a blush every single time.
However, they decided to spend Christmas Eve differently. They moved their bed against the window so they could sit on the bed and look out of the window comfortably. They grabbed a blanket that Charlie and Knox had gifted to them and wrapped it around themselves, huddling together as they watched the snow fall.
"Hey Todd?"
"Yes Neil?"
"I love you" this was the first time this had been said between the two of them.
"I love you too Neil."Neil looked into Todd's eyes with nothing but love and happiness before tenderly grabbing his face and bringing him in for a kiss. Todd was shocked at first but quickly melted into the kiss, awkwardly shifting himself onto Neil's lap.
As they pulled apart, Neil wasted no time picking Todd up bridal style and placing him gently onto the bed.
"Neil what are you doing? I'm cold." Neil didn't give an answer, he instead rummaged through his bag until he pulled out a brown paper bag containing some small, well wrapped presents.
"These are for you, my dear," Neil said sweetly, giving Todd the bag of presents, to which he softly thanked him and another blush appeared.
There were 3 presents to be exact.
Todd gently opened the first, feeling his heart race as Neil watched him. He slowly pulled out a soft jumper, one he recognised to be Neil's.
"Neil this is yours, I-I can't accept this."
"But you can, I know you want to wear my clothes, I overheard you with Knox last month."Todd blushed a deep shade of pink and avoided eye contact.
"I think it's adorable, you'll look wonderful in my clothes Todd." This only made Todd's blush deeper.
The next present was definitely book shaped, causing Todd's excitement to grow even more. As he tore back the wrapping paper, he saw the title "poetry of the romantics", his smile grew. He flicked through the pages to see which poets were in there but instead he saw all the little notes left by Neil. These notes either made fun of some of the phrases or were dedicated to Todd from Neil, causing his eyes to tear up.
"Neil I-I don't know what to s-say."
Neil gently wiped away Todd's tears, planting a soft kiss on his cheek with a smile. The last present Todd had to open was a small velvet box; inside were two necklaces chains with rings on each of them.
Todd slowly picked one up and examined the engraving: "carpe diem".
Without a word, Neil grabbed one of the necklaces and put it around Todd's neck and clasped the back, and Todd did the same.
"The rings are so we'll always have a piece of each other with each other, and as a sign of my love for you. We can't marry and wear rings but this is the next best thing."
Neil's words caused Todd to immediately jump into his arms and hug him like his life depended on it.
"I love you, Neil Perry."
"I love you, Todd Anderson"
