*Flashback*

it was a normal day at the orphanage you and your siblings were all playing,drawing,studying for tests and etc.

"(Y/N)IEEEEE" jimmy your little brother called jumping in your arms "jimmy!! Are you excited??you'll be getting adopted toady!!!" You asked your adorable little brother "well, yes but i-I don't wanna leave you" he said burying his face in your neck hugging you.

"I'll miss you too but you should be happy"you said shooting him a smile "you'll have a family and you will get to see everything outside, and you can meet new kids and play with them in a PARK a REAL PARK" you exclaimed. You were gonna miss him, you missed all your siblings.

The ones who were adopted of course.

You always wondered why they never sent any letters. Why they forgot about you. You were happy for them of course but you just missed them.

snapping out of your thoughts "yesss! I promise I will talk to you after I get adopted and I will beg to come visit you" you gave your little brother a smile  and pecked his forehead. "You should be getting ready, come on I'll call mama so she can help you look your best when you get adopted" 

You walked to your moms office thinking she might be there since she's always there when someone's getting adopted.

"Mom? Are you in here?" you asked stepping inside her office. It was a mess. Since when is mom a mess! She's always tidy. It won't hurt if I help tidy her desk!!

You started picking up sheets and papers until you notices something. The paper said all the names of your siblings who got adopted this year. After reading the paper your eyes widened, your breath was hitching, your heart was beating, and your whole body was shaking.

The paper said:

Chase:dead

Sasha:Mom/sister

Lynette:dead

Calvin:dead

Riley: Mom/sister 

Jimmy: dead

'WHAT?! WHAT IS THIS?? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?' "Y/N? Is that you?" You heard a voice at the door. Your eyes widening causing you to stumble back and fall on your butt.

"O-oh mom!! You scared me!" You pouted trying your best to act normal. You were one of the smartest in the orphanage so you knew something there was something suspicious that you weren't supposed to know. So you had to act.

"What are you doing here?" Her voice sounded sweet but somewhat serious

"I was just coming to call you to help Jimmy get ready! But then you weren't here and I noticed your  office was a mess..so I decided to help clean it up...." you said rubbing the back of your neck.

"It's fine sweetie, I'll clean my office myself" your mom said giving you a smile. "Anyways, I'll go help jimmy get ready you can come help" your mom said her going back to her normal loving sweet voice "actually I think I'm gonna go to Josie. Bye mama!" You said hugging your mom. "Bye honey and tell Jimmy to come to me" you mom said "Okay!!Will do!"

Josie...Josephine

My best friend...

 she was the smartest one here she always got high scores. Well so do I, but she's way smarter than me. I'm just really athletic while she's really smart we make the best team playing hide and seek, and tag and just any athletic game that needs strategy in general.

I need to tell her what I saw in the paper. She'll know what to do. 

I walked through the hallways it was so quiet... The kids playing outside in the background, my footsteps, the clock ticking. 

I walked outside seeing Josie reading a book to the younger children. "Jimmy! Come inside!! Mom is gonna help you get ready" You called out to jimmy.

You walked over to Josie about to tell her what you had seen until one of your siblings started jumping up and down. "Y/n's here! Y/n's here!!" Everyone stared at you now smiling then looking at you confused.

Why are they all confused... "Y/n is everything okay?" Josie asked "Hm?oh yeah.. of course I am!! Why wouldn't I be?" "Well you weren't smiling... so.." Josie said"don't worry about me!!" You forced a smile on your face hoping no one would notice.

well no one noticed....

I mean, how couldn't she notice? She was your best friend.

"Okay good!!! Do you wanna play tag?" "well.." "Pleaseee pretty please" your sibling pleaded. "Sorry Ricky y/n and I actually have to do do something, tomorrow okay?" Josie said since she wanted to ask you what was wrong "okay fineee Josie"

Josie held your hand and took you inside you both took a seat you were so scared you wanted to tell her but you didn't know how she would react.

"Y/n what happened?" Josie asked "J-Josie" you finally let the tears fall she just hugged you she was so worried.. 

~some time later~

"de-dead?" you nodded she looked so scared she believed you, you were never the lying or pranking type and she knew that.

"I didn't know who to tell and.. I thought you had to know-" Josie just wiped away her tears "it's okay I'm kind of glad you told me that" she said giving you a sad soft smile.

"But I don't think we're supposed to know, even thought we don't know everything. We know that our friends are dead and that's still bad" Josie said with a serious tone in her voice and I just nodded. 

"So we can't cry all the time or talk about it here while everyone is awake" 

"Your right, but I think we need to find out more. Like why our siblings died and how they died and maybe we can escape." You said 

"I have an idea on how to do that" Josephine said

"Really? How?" You asked "But.." "but what?" "It's risky, very risky" she said "okay okay just what is it?" You asked.

"Well, since it says all the adopted kids names and jimmy is getting adopted" "what if I follow them and then if it's true and jimmy actually is ... well you know what we can figure out a way to  escape so no one else dies" Josie said

"No no no that's too risky Josie" you said "yeah I know but.." she says "but what Josie? But what if you get caught and jimmy actually does die. What if you get killed after your caught too" 

"Y/n" "yes?" "How else are we supposed to find out if that paper isn't just a sick prank how else are we supposed to know? Do you have a better idea?" You look at the ground "no.." "see?"

"Fine but I'm only gonna allow you to follow mama and Jimmy if I come too" you say"bu-" "ah, ah no buts" you cut her off "I'm amazing at tag and hide and seek aren't I?" "It can be just like hide and seek we hide from jimmy and mama" you say

"Okay fine" Josie sighs giving in
