Shadow - part 18

All morning I had to be with Mia. She didn't want to sleep, so I had to play with her. It's really hard. I'm talking a bit with Ricky, but nothing too much. He must realize that he was wrong.

After 2 hours of playing with Mia, she finally fell asleep. Then I, all exhausted, lay down on the couch, turned FoxLife and watched, "How I Met Your Mother." When the episode ended, I got up with the intention to do a little tidying up the house before mom and dad come home.

While I was gathering Mia's toys off the floor, I saw Ricky looking at me.

-Nina, could you sit down for a moment? -Ricky asked.

-What you want? -I said with that serious voice.

-I want to talk to you little bit.

-Okay, so what you want to tell me?

-I feel so bad, because ur mad at me. I would never cheat on you with Rebbeca.

-I just thought that she can help me, because you already have ur own problems. I didn't wanted to bother u with that boring Spanish.

-But I want to help you, and you know I'm always here for you.

After I said it, mom and dad showed up at the door. They looked very depressed, so I walked over and asked:

-Is everything okay?

-I got fired. -Mom said with sad voice.

-Oh,mom! I'm sorry.

-Its okay honey, everythig will be alright.

What will happen to us yet?! - I thought.

While we were having dinner, we were all very quiet, exept for Mia, she was crying all time.

Suddenly, Ricky pulls from his pocket about $ 1000 and put them on the table.

-I want you to take this. -he said.

-Ricky, you know that we will not take that. -Dad said with a serious voice.

-Please take it, it's the least I can do after you have welcomed me into this family. I will not take them either.

After that, he got up and went to his room. I quickly ran after him screaming:

-Ricky, thank you very much for that, but you don't have to.

-Nina, you don't understand, I am member of this family and I want to do it.
