Chapter 71: Destination Reached

3rd Person POV:

In the night sky an Atlesian airship is seen flying as inside Team RWBY, JNR, Oscar, and Miyu are all resting in the back while Qrow and Maria are in the front as the sight of a city causes Qrow's eyes to widen.

Qrow: Hey, if you've never seen Atlas in person before, you don't wanna miss this.

Ruby and the others walk up to the cockpit window.

Ruby: Is it weird that I'm sorta nervous?

Yang: No, I'll believe we've made it to Atlas when I see it.

Weiss: Well... believe it.

The airship comes out of the clouds, and the floating city of Atlas is seen coming into view.

Nora: Wow!

Miyu: It really is a floating city.

Maria: You know, you make the trip up to Atlas over and over, but you never get used to that view. (her prosthetic eyes start to act up again) Oh, come on!

Weiss leans forward and has a nervous look on her face. Ruby notices this.

Ruby: Weiss, what is it?

Everyone looks up, and notice above the city of Atlas many Atlas Airships.

Weiss: The Atlas air fleet... I knew all of our ships were called back, but...

Qrow: They're set up like they're expecting an attack...

Suddenly, the radio turns on.

Atlas Air Control: Manta 5-1, welcome home...

Manta airships continue to patrol the skies around Atlas, keeping in communication with each other in the radio. Maria pilots the group's stolen Manta toward the city, they receive radio contact.

Atlas Air Traffic Female: Manta 5-1. Welcome home. Please continue your approach to Atlas docking bay Omega-12. A security team will meet you there. Over.

Ruby and the others aboard Manta 5-1 look around at the large military air fleet surrounding the kingdom's capital.

Ruby: I don't understand. What's happening here?

Qrow: I don't know.

Jaune: But we are here. We got the lamp to Atlas, so I guess we land and get some answers.

Weiss: I'm not so sure. I've never seen our forces deployed so aggressively before. If we land in a stolen ship, there's no way the security team will let us anywhere near Ironwood.

Weiss: They might even take me back to my father.

Blake gains a saddened look, Ruby and Yang look at each other, uncertain of what to do.

Miyu: (placing a hand on Weiss's shoulder) There's no way we're gonna let that happen.

The wolf faunus has a warm smile on her face as Weiss smiles back.
