Karl Jacobs was recently revealed to canonically have time travel capabilities. I didn't see it coming although, there were signs that he could. I will insert screenies if I find them, but Karl posted many Tweets foreshadowing his 'powers'. But every time Karl travels, he loses a piece of himself.
On to the theory; Because Mr.Jacobs loses a part of his soul, what if he loses too much of his soul and does something he would regret? Like the egg did to Skeppy, Bad and Ant? Where did Karl get his 'power' from? Well, guess what? I have a theory!
The Egg is known to be controlling, it can change the mental state of almost anyone who is close to it for extended periods of time, what if, again this is just a 'what if' I'm not claiming anything, but what if the Egg can 'grant' or force powers upon someone?
Yes, the Egg is a newer item, only existing since approximately Jschlatt's death. But we don't know what era the Karl we see during canon events is from. The tweet below, dated October 16, 2020, was exactly a month from November 16th, also known as The Dawn Of The 16th. so obviously Karl's powers didn't exist until after The Dawn Of The 16th, because if they did, Karl would have been able to prevent Manberg's death entirely.

We don't know what canon 'Mining off camera' occurs, No one can watch every single stream from every single DSMP member, so everyone misses a little bit of juicy lore. (that was not dirty so don't turn it dirty) I have missed way more than I want to, so please fill me in!
Karl may have spent enough time near the egg and his whole-heartedness could make him a perfect target for the egg, who I believe to be sentient, but that's for another theory. The egg could have granted him time travelling powers, which would explain the losing his soul every time he travels.
But that's just a theory, a Karl theory! Cut!
