Ahsoka was lying on her bed, in a dorm with 3 other younglings. It had been a long day. She had left her home so quickly. The only thing she had brought was her little stuffed loth cat. She had never actually seen one, (or been to Lothal for that matter), but she liked to dream about them. She had always been told her mother had given it to her before she was taken away by slavers. That, and a small heart shaped necklace. Her mother had been taken away when she was just a baby, by Zygerrian slavers. She didn't remember much about her mother. Only that her voice had been so warm, and her eyes a soft blue. Ahsoka hugged the lothcat tighter. The chief had once told her a song her mother had sung to her. Ahsoka started singing softly.
You are my sunshine... My only sunshine, you make me happy when sky's are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. So please don't take my sunshine away.
She could almost hear her mother singing it too her. She had grown up an orphan, with no one knowing who her father was. Sure, the village had provided for her and been kind enough, but no one had ever loved her. No one cared enough to. That's why when master polo asked if he could take her, no one had argued. No protests of, "you can't take her from us!" "We need her!". They had just agreed. She had kept a brave face on. But it started to crack. She stared at the lothcat, trying to hold tears in. Then, she just let them go. She hugged the lothcat, as hard as she could and quietly sobbed. It was scary here. She had no friends. She was alone. She looked at the lothcat. "It's ok." She said quietly, her voice cracking. "Don't cry. I'll love you." Tears streamed down her face. She was alone.

"Someday this war will end. What will we do then?"
"I don't know. But whatever happens, I won't let anyone hurt you."
