"so what'd you think?" kei asked

"it sucked ass i wanna go home"

"stop acting bitchy because you didn't get any sleep, what'd you actually think of it"

"fine. it was... good, i guess"

"yeah i know, i'm great"

"no."

"admit it" he said

"i have class. bye." you said walking away

he rolled his eyes, and so did you

***

you've been to karasuno twice before, once last week and the other at the very beginning of the year.

since it wasn't your first time there you weren't completely lost, but you still somehow managed to get to class 20 minutes late.

considering that you basically have short term memory loss and last week you weren't there actually taking class, you only followed your brother around as a 'trail week', you probably should've stayed with tsukishima, instead of bitching out, so he could tell you where to go.

well it all didn't matter now anyways, now it was time it go and officially start your new life at this new school.

not only were you coming in already far off into the year, but you were also arriving late to your first class, so much for first impressions huh.

sounds like a cliche in a stupid fan fiction written by a 15 year old.

'here goes nothing i guess'

you walked into the classroom and of course all eyes shot to you.

your teacher walked over to you in a kind of disappointed manner

"and kids this is the new student i was talking to you about" he said.

"hi my name is y/n tsukishima and i'm 16, i hope you'll take care of me" you bowed.

oh god there were no words to express how much you hated that phrase,

'"i hope you'll take care of me", ugh i can take care of myself' you thought

"miss l/n please walk over and sit in the empty seat next to kageyama, kageyama please raise your hand"

wait, you recognized him, he was one of the volleyball dudes in tsukishima's team.

the one who set the crazy quick attack.

at least you're sitting next to someone you know, ok maybe this whole thing won't be too bad.

you sat down and looked over to kageyama, "hi" you said.

"oh hey" he replied kind of awkwardly.

in an effort to ease the tension you decided to try and talk about something you knew you both liked, volleyball.

"i saw your quick attack earlier, it was weird... but... really cool."

he turned his head in curiosity so you continued, "the way you set the ball was amazing, in fact i think your whole technique is pretty cool. how you adjust the ball so precisely, it really shows your skill."

he seemed a tad bit surprised, someone genuinely complimenting his playing, not him and hinatas, and it was a tsukishima out of all people.

"oh um,, thank you"

***

class ended with not many words exchanged between you and kageyama. the only thing was that you did have that small conversation in the beginning of class with him about volleyball. you guys talked about it for a while until the teacher called on you to take notes.

it was kind of nice actually, although the two of you didn't talk too much, there was a sorta mutual understanding. you guys were chill with each other, maybe a new friendship would bloom.

which honestly wasn't really something you planned on.

now, although for the majority of class there wasn't too much going on between you and kags, the tiny tangerine sure was talkative.

at least every 5 minutes he would tap on your shoulder and just ask for a pencil, or a piece of paper, or a pen, or a highlighter, basically anything to just try and talk to you.

honestly, it was a bit annoying,, but at the same time it was also sorta funny how much effort he was putting into trying to be friends with you.

well, tsukishima did warn you about him.

"aghhhhh finalllyyyy. home sweet home." you said as you plopped down on your living room couch.

"aw im glad you had a good first day" tsukishima said sarcastically.

"shut up or i'll break you headphones"

"Y/N YOU WILL NOT BREAK YOUR BROTHERS HEADPHONES AND MAKE ME BUY A NEW PAIR AGAIN" you heard your mother scream from the kitchen.

"loser" he said as walked up the stairs to his room.

"whatever" you mumbled, still face down on the couch.

at this point you didn't have enough energy to bicker with him.

you decided you needed to take a nap and recharge your energy so you made your way upstairs to your room and went straight to the covers.

you didn't even have the strength to take off your uniform.

but of course your phone had to ring. and it wasn't just a one time text ding. no. whoever was texting you surely was not gonna leave you alone anytime soon.

"ughhhh can i not catch a break!" you said rummaging through your backpack to find your phone.

you finally found it but, surprisingly, you were actually kinda happy you did,

because the notification read none other than-

" the owl bois <3 "
