Kaede walked into the room where Rantaro was. It was weird that there were 3 research labs already. She wondered what could possibly be inside. Ultimate Rock Star did sound pretty cool, if she did say so herself. Rantaro noticed her, and then turned his head away from Kaede.
"I- that was pretty rude, Rantaro," Kaede crossed her arms in disapproval.
"Does it look like I give a single drop of care spirit?" Rantaro narrowed his eyes.
"That was rude as well. You need to learn how to be kinder. Here, I'll give you some lessons!" Kaede offered.
"I don't wan-" Rantaro was interrupted by Kaede, who grabbed a whiteboard from the room, and one of the electric pianos.
"What are you doing? Also, that whiteboard isn't meant for your low quality lectures, it's meant for lyric writing," Rantaro grumbled. Kaede started giggling.
"Well, of course! That's what I'm using the whiteboard for, silly!"
"Pssh, as if you could write a song. Leave it to an ultimate, like me." Rantaro scoffed.
"Er- you realize that everyone here is an ultimate? And I'm the Ultimate Pianist. So, actually, I can write a song." Kaede informed. "...Well technically, I can write a song on piano, the lyrics might take a little bit of time..."
"Well, I'm not going to help you lecture me on how to be kind. You sound like a certain red-eyed individual with dark purple hair, who will not let anybody run in the halls," Rantaro crossed his arms.
"...Who now?"
"Nobody. Be quiet,"
Kaede rolled her eyes, and then started playing a portion from Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.
"I thought you were going to make your own song. Clearly, you aren't as talented as the Ultimate Rock Star, because you can only play songs by others," Rantaro mocked.
"Yeah, heh, I guess I'm not the most talented in the songwriting portion of the music industry. But, I was thinking maybe I could spin off one of the classics I like. There's nothing wrong with a nice remix!" Kaede shrugged, smiling sheepishly.
"I guess. But, I still think I could do much better," Rantaro grabbed his electric guitar. He started to sing some cheesy lines while playing an original tune on his guitar.
"...Okay that was really cringeworthy. I'm going to make a song about something else. Like... a rap!" Rantaro decided.
"Can you even rap though?" Kaede wasn't sure whether she should trust Rantaro with the ability of rapping or not.
"Of course, I am the Ultimate Rock Star, after all," Rantaro did a short bow.
"Prove it then." Kaede said. "...Please."
Let's just say that Rantaro wrote some pretty good rap lines. [However, for the sake of all of you readers, I will not input my cringe lyrics.]
"Woah! Those are actually really good! I applaud you," Kaede started to clap really loudly.
"Your turn," Rantaro pointed to her.
"Oh, uhm, I really can't compare..." Kaede scratched the back of her head.
"Just try."
"I'll try," Kaede nervously brainstormed lyrics, so that she wouldn't seem lesser than Rantaro. But, although she took quite some time, she wrote lyrics and rapped them on the same level as him.
"Oh, that's very good, actually," Rantaro praised.
"Thank you. I myself am surprised I could come up with such a good song!" Kaede said.
"Okay, it wasn't that good," Rantaro looked away. Ah. There was the old Rantaro. Well, the new old Rantaro.
They spent a few hours singing and rapping together, until Kaede looked at the clock.
"Oh, I'd better go to sleep."
"Without dinner?"
"Yes, I'm quite tired after... this."
"Suit yourself then."
Kaede walked to her dorm room. She was surprised that she got along with the new Rantaro, maybe they had even become friends?
She thought more about this as she layed in bed. She was almost asleep, when a thought crossed through her mind.
