{𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮}
RILEY WEST WAS MADE INTO A MONSTER. Kidnapped by HYDRA forces when she was only 16, Riley's life would never be the same. Dr. Von Strucker had been looking for young children with no ties in the world like family, to start his cruel experiments on. It just so happened, that a 16 year old orphan was the perfect choice. Riley had been walking home from school once day when she was snatched up. Taken from her everyday life as a normal teenager, and taken to a place that was worth than death. Every day, for almost a year- Riley was experimented on, and brainwashed. She was turned into something everyone feared.
Von Strucker had failed many times before in his attempts at creating mutants, however- somehow, Riley had been the exception. She had been the very first successful mutant in the Hydra base. Von Strucker brainwashed her similar to the way he would brainwash his winter soldiers, but it wasn't as strong given how powerful she was. After the experiments were finished, Riley's power was unbelievably strong. She was turned into Strucker's personal weapon against all who had wronged him. She hated it, but she had no choice. The poor girl had known nothing but blood on her hands by the time she was 18 years old. Von Strucker had kept up his experiments after Riley's creation, since he was still hungry for more power.
He wanted an army of super soldiers, but somehow- Riley had been his only one to ever succeed. It wasn't until Riley was 21 that she started to break free from the mind compulsion that she had been forced under since she was 16. It did not go unnoticed, however. Von Strucker was not happy once he noticed, so he made a plan to break her even further. Von Strucker had brought in Riley's childhood best friend, Lena- and gave her orders to kill her. Riley had only ever had one friend in her life, and that was Lena. That much, she remembered. They had grown up in foster care together, and she loved her.
Riley refused, with everything she had. She refused to kill her. HYDRA killed Lena anyways, shooting her in the head right in front of Riley's own eyes. Riley broke right then and there. She screamed, and her powers destroyed the men who stood in the room with her. Killing them all instantly. Riley took that as her chance to run. She killed all that stood in her way, and finally- she escaped. She had heard of SHIELD, and how they helped people like her. So, she took a chance. She went to the only place a HYDRA operative would never go. The SHIELD HQ.
{𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘴}
-Riley escapes the HYDRA base and escapes. She walks right into the SHEILD base, a sworn enemy of HYDRA with her hands above her head and she looked beaten to a pulp. SHIELD takes her in, and puts her in a holding cell for people with powers. They end up questioning her and she outs Von Struckers whole situation. They raid the base, and Von Strucker gets away. Afterwards, Riley is convinced to join SHIELD. She becomes one of their best agents and by the time Avengers comes around, she's been with SHIELD for about a year and a half.
-Riley was 21 when she escaped, so she is now almost 23.
-Please note that Riley doesn't struggle with her powers. She controls them very well, and she tries not to use them much due to how abused they were in the past. She's spent her whole life hating herself, and thinking she's a monster. When she meets Steve, he starts to make her feel human again.
-Riley has a serious hatred for HYDRA because of what they did to her. In Age of Ultron, Riley ends up being the one to kill Von Strucker.
- Riley is able to control energy with her powers. She can heal people with them, create forcefields around anyone or anything, and she can control and bend said energy and use it to her will. This basically means that she can shoot energy blasts out of her hands, killing it's target instantly or she can control the intensity of the the blasts.
-Riley bonds with Steve when they both realize that they have more in common then they think. They both hate HYDRA, and both were experiments. During Age of Ultron, Steve takes a liking to Riley. He starts to spend time with her, and eventually- Riley begins to open up to him. This story is a SLOW BURN due to Riley's extensive and traumatic past. She's afraid of love, and has spent her whole life thinking she's a monster. Steve is the one who convinces her she isn't.
