Born with more power in her pinky finger than 3 gods had in their whole bodies, Calliope Vesta was a force to be reckoned with. Otherwise known as 'daughter of hell', Calliope Vesta was born to a human father and the Goddess, Hera, was in fact her mother. When Hera figured out that she was pregnant after a one night stand with a human, she was terrified. She knew that her powers had been diminished, and could not bare to look at the child she would have, for that child would only serve as a reminder of what the Goddess of fire had lost. So when Calliope was born, Hera banished her daughter to earth. Sent her there to live her life alone on earth with a set of human parents, yet her memories remained there- lying in her head, destroying her from the inside out.
It was because of this that Calliope had such a rough upbringing. She struggled with finding somewhere she belonged. The girl was too demon for the human world, and too human for the underworld. Therefore, she was stuck in the space between. She struggled to hide her powers, trying her hardest not to lose control of them, in fear that she might let her dark side take control of her. One night, Calliope did lose control. She let her dark side take over, and set fire to her entire home- killing both of her foster parents and all of her foster siblings. It was ruled a freak accident, and Calliope was moved from home and home again and again until she aged out of the foster system. After she was on her own, Calliope had stopped using her powers all together. She had created a bracelet that helped in suppressing her powers, and she had worn it ever since that fire.
Though when she is 20 years old, living on her own, Calliope receives a visitor in the form of a man with an eyepatch claiming to be Nick Fury. When Calliope joins the Avengers about 2 years after the events of Age of Ultron, and forms a bond with a red headed avenger- she must face her dark side, and either overcome it, or succumb to it.

-The only thing is that Callie's mother is something that will always bring her pain no matter what the context or circumstances. Her mother is the darkest thing in her past, and it's something she doesn't have the courage to face until she meets Natasha.
