I was walking down a dark hallway, there were pictures hanging on the walls. A girl with dark eyes was staring back into mine. Who was she? I continued down the hallway then I stopped abruptly! I stood alone in darkness trying to make a mental map of the room as my eyes roamed I happened to glance at my reflection in a mirror. I gazed closely at my reflection but to my surprise I saw another. It was of the image of the mystery girl. She appeared to be inside the mirror! She looked intensely at me with sad eyes, then she smiled a sinister smile before grabbing my arms and pulling me straight through the mirror! Right at that moment I jumped out of bed and looked around, I was still in my room. It must have been another dream ..... I thought staring at my alarm clock. It was 6:30 a.m. I crawled back into bed and pondered at what I just had experienced. What was happening to my once normal well adjusted life? Why do I keep having dreams of the mysterious girl? Who was she and what does she want from me? Why is it that in every dream I was in this house? Why is it that in every dream I had since I came here that girl was in it? I was getting scared. I quietly got dressed and gingerly made my way up the stairs. The house was quiet, and a bit dark. I looked into the living room everything was as it should be. A soothing wave of relief washed over me. I made my way into the kitchen. I grabbed a juice box from the fridge and started to drink, it was refreshingly cold. I sipped slowly, perfect I thought. As I drank I started to wonder about the dreams I had. I wanted to know where the girl was taking me. I wanted to know what was on the other side. Stop it I thought, I was letting my curiosity get the better of me. I pushed the thought into the back of my mind, but somehow it managed to find its way to the top. I felt the urge to grab the flashlight from my fathers coat pocket. I walked to the end of the living room and unlocked the big white door, before slamming petrified. I dropped the flashlight to the ground. Beyond the door was a girl dressed in black, her face covered with blood. She was standing beside a bed. Lying on the bed was a girl with skin as pale as a ghost, hair as black as coal wearing what I thought was a white nightgown, now drenched in blood. I felt very uneasy. Trying to muster the strength that I had I ran as fast as I could up the stairs. I raced into my parents room. "Mom, Dad there's someone else living in this house!" I screamed in terror. Instantly alerted to my screams they shot out of bed. "What?!" Mom yelled confused, "Alexandra your not making any sense." I breathed heavily. "You know that white door at the back of the living room?" I asked trying to make it as understandable as possible. "I opened it today and saw something that..." I trailed off. I then became lightheaded, and felt as if I couldn't breathe. Before I closed my weary eyes I caught a glimpse of something in my parents room. Something terrifying...
When I came to I was lying in the emergency room. What had happened? Why was I here? I turned my head to the left to see my mother and father sitting on a hospital bench. "Hi, Lexi." Dad said stroking my hair. "Hi." I replied softly, "Why am I here?" Mom and dad exchanged worried glances. "Before you fainted in our bedroom, you kept saying that there was another person living in the house behind the big white door at the back of the living room." Mom explained, "So we had someone check it out and the door led to the backyard." I was struck by disappointment. How could they not have seen it? The room, covered by the blood of that girl? I lay helpless on the hospital bed.
A few hours later we returned home. Still upset about the turn out of the situation I made a quick sandwich and raced downstairs to my bedroom. I grabbed my iPhone of my side table and called Tyler. A few minutes passed before he picked up. "Hey Lexi." He said in a rather calm tone. "Can you come over?" I asked. I knew he could hear the worry in my voice. "Ya, where do you live again?" He asked. "178 Creek Manor." I replied. "Alright I'm on my way, sorry I couldn't make it the other time, my parents took my car keys." He replied honestly. "Don't worry about it." I said. I hung up and ran upstairs. "Mom, Dad Tyler is coming over!" I called. "Says who?" Mom asked. I looked at my feet. "Just kidding Tyler is a good boy he can come over anytime." I was so relieved. I sat on the couch in the living room waiting for Tyler's arrival...
