I stayed in my room for a good portion of the day, only leaving when I was hungry or needed to use the bathroom. It was just so strange that my parents didn't notice any of this change and that I was the only one. Anger, confusion, frustration, worry, and nausea were all examples of how I was feeling. None of this made sense. My dreams, this house, this change. Why did it have to happen to this family? Why did it have to happen to me? I laid in my bed scrolling down my contact list. I know naughty girl, don't take stuff that's yours that your parents tell you not to touch. But seriously, ever since the wifi thingy was installed I had to keep in touch with my best, friends, forever or (BFF'S) for short. I kept scrolling the list until I found Tyler Manor. I've known him since first grade and we've been best friends ever since, surely he would understand what I was experiencing. I pressed a phone shaped button to call and waited for a response. After a few minutes he picked. "Hey Lexi." He replied calmly, "How's the new house?" "Oh, it's great if you keep having nightmares and seeing a little girl that looks like the Grim Reaper's daughter." I explained sarcastically. I heard laughing from the other end of phone. Maybe I went about this all wrong, maybe Tyler wouldn't understand. "Ha..haha, Grim Reaper's daughter hahaha!!" I heard him cackle. "It's the truth bonehead!" I yelled back. "Let me catch my breath... HA!HA!HA!" I heard him giggle from the other end. "Uh!" I yelled in frustration and pressed the hang up button. A few minutes later he called back. I answered. "You wanna laugh some more?" I asked. "No, I wanted to ask you what's really going on." He said seriously. I sighed, it was really hard to stay mad at him. "Okay so first of all I had a dream of some girl who had hair as black as coal and skin as pale as a ghost." I continued, "And then I got stuck in my basement because the door jammed, but according to my parents it was open." "That's kind of weird." Tyler replied in an awkward tone. "And that's not all, at the back of our house there's this big white door and when I opened it it led me to three different places." I paused trying to remember what they were, then it hit me. "The first one was a room filled with doors, the second was our backyard, and the third was a long hallway decorated with pictures of what I think are the old residents of this place." I said remembering Alexandra the First. Should I tell Tyler about it? Was it worth the risk? I guess it was worth the shot. "And Tyler there's one more thing." I began. "What is it Lexi?" He asked with deep concern. "While I was in that long hallway I saw a picture of a girl named Alexandra the First, and then right beside that picture I think it was a piece of paper that said R.I.P. Alexandra the First." I felt nauseous just saying her name. "Tyler I think I need to take a nap, I'm not feeling so good." "Wait where do you live Im not leaving you at your house all by yourself!" He said worriedly. "We live on 178 Creek-" I couldn't finish the rest, I was knocked out by a heavy sleep. What kept making me so nauseous and afraid every time I said Alexandra's name? Why was this only effecting me and not the rest of my family? Was I the only one who could see these things? Was I the only one who noticed a change in our once normal life? I guess I must have left my phone on because when I came to I heard Tyler screaming from the other end. Immediately I jumped into action. "Tyler what's wrong!?" I asked terrified hoping nothing bad had happened to him. "Lexi thank God your awake!" He yelled, "You've been asleep for twelve hours!" "Twelve hours, you couldn't have stayed on the phone for twelve hours!" I cried. "I did and every time I called your name you didn't reply, do you know how scared you made me?" He continued, "I could have had a heart attack!" None of this made sense if I had really slept twelve hours, where was mom and dad? "Ty, I couldn't have slept for twelve hours my parents would be home by now. I thought of what might of happened. Had they stayed for a pro-longed meeting at work, did they get in to a car crash, or worse. I thought of Alexandra the First before immediately pushing the thought out of my mind. "I don't know where your parents are but you have to tell me where you live." He replied seriously. I took a deep breath. "178 Creek Manor." I replied calmly. "Okay I'll be there as fast as I can." He replied before hanging up. Not talking to Tyler made me feel quite lonely. I sat on my bed staring at the ceiling. What a weird day. About half an hour later there was a knock on the door. Hoping to see my parents or Tyler, I raced up the basement steps and to the front door. I looked through a side window and to my surprise it was my parents. I was so relieved. I opened it quickly and gave them a big hug. " Mom, Dad your home!" I said with glee. "Well you look happy to see us." Dad said, "Where were you we've been knocking on the door since six, it's about eight o'clock now." They had left the only set of house keys with me. "What?" I said confused. "You heard your father we had to sit in the car for two hours before you heard us." What? I thought. Had I really been sleeping for twelve hours? Mom looked at me concerned. "Is there something bothering you?" She asked in a worried tone. "No, I've just been really sleepy." I replied quickly hoping she didn't suspect anything. "Oh." She replied stepping through the door, dad following her. "Alexandra I'm gonna start making dinner soon." Dad said, taking off his coat and making his way into the kitchen. For some unknown reason I wanted to look in the living room. I stood by the doorway and peered inside. That's when I saw it. A faded glimpse of that mysterious girl. She appeared to be wearing white night gown with long sleeves that had lace at the trim. Her hair was covering her eyes but I had the weirdest feeling that she was watching me. I turned back to my mom, then back to the living room. The girl was gone. "Alexandra time for dinner." I heard dad call out from the kitchen. "Coming!" I replied loudly walking into the kitchen. I sat at the dinner table quietly. Rarely taking a bite. When I was done I washed my dish and went downstairs. I was dead tired. I laid in bed. Who was that girl in the living room? Was she Alexandra the first or, was she the girl in my dreams? I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
