"Wait so your telling me that there's a white door in your living room that leads to other places?" Tyler asked astonished. He had just arrived and we were sitting on my white bedspread discussing all of the events. "Yes, and I don't know why I can see the other places but my parents can't." I replied frustrated. He looked deep into my eyes. "Lexi, don't worry I'm here for you." He said putting an arm around me. I blushed, he had never done something like that. "Thanks!" I replied. "So can you show me this door?" He asked as if it were an adventure. "Let me check if mom and dad are asleep." Quietly we crept up the stairs. I peeked through the crack in my parents bedroom door. Fast asleep. I gave Tyler a thumbs up as we made our way to the living room. "Look I'm not sure what will happen, just promise me that whatever you do, you don't let go of my hand." I told him eagerly putting out a hand for him to grab. "I promise." He nodded taking my hand. I grabbed a flashlight off of the living room cabinet and pulled the door open. At first we were in the hall of doors. Tyler and I exchanged glances of fear and worry. "One sec." I said before pulling him out of the doorway and closing the door. "Why did you do that?" He asked stubbornly. "Watch." I said simply before opening the door once more. I suddenly felt like I was experiencing déjà vu. There was a long corridor with a tall mirror at the end. Tyler looked at me and squeezed my hand. I nodded and pressed on. When we reached the end of the corridor, we were facing the tall mirror. At first I saw my reflection; tall, rather slim, dark brown curly hair and chocolate eyes. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Somehow I felt safer with Tyler by my side. When I opened them Tyler was gone. A sense of fear gripped my body. A sharp breeze of cold air ran through my spine. I looked at my reflection and saw what appeared to be a young girl, about my size inside the mirror. She had black hair, and pale skin. I was terrified. I frantically looked about for any sign of Tyler. The girl laughed then fogged the reflective glass with her breath. Taking her index finger she wrote in big letters. HE'S THROUGH, NOW ITS YOUR TURN! I read quickly and looked at the girl horrified. She smiled a sinister smile and pulled me through the mirror. "AHH!!" I screamed in terror, "WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" I kept trying to convince myself that this was just a dream. The girl didn't mind my cries she just kept pulling me through the mirror.
Finally after what seemed like forever I was on the other side of the mirror. I looked around, I was in my house in the same corridor I was before when I was with Tyler. Suddenly remembering him I looked around in panic. Thankfully he had found me. "Tyler!" I cried rushing to hug him. He embraced me in his arms. "Are you alright." He asked concerned. I caught my breath, "Yes, I'm fine." I replied trying to remain as calm as possible. I looked at the mirror and tried to push my way back in. Nothing happened. "We're stuck!" I panicked trying to force my body through the glass. "We're stuck!" I said again hoping for a miracle. Our only option was to walk through the white door and pray for the best. I turned the door knob and pushed through, Tyler following close behind me. When we passed through I closed the door quietly behind us. I turned towards Tyler who immediately grabbed my hand and squeezed it tight. Suddenly I heard singing. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Alexandra happy birthday to you!" They chimed. Interested I waltzed into the kitchen. Sitting at a hardwood table was a young girl about my age, surrounded by her family. Though she looked rather sad. I walked up to her and put my hand on her shoulder. Incredulously it slid right through her! Astonished I tried once more. It was like she was a hologram. I looked at Tyler confused. With a worried expression on his face he shrugged shyly. I swallowed hard. What just happened? Assuming that every one was in a holographic state I walked through the table towards the window pulling Tyler along with me. I glanced outside and saw a girl in a black dress. She was just standing there but why? I looked closely at her. She smiled at me, like the smile the girl had before she pulled me through the mirror. Before my eyes she raced to the other side of the house. On an attempt to catch her I slammed not only myself but Tyler into a wall. I guess not everything was holographic. I picked myself off the ground. "Did you see her?" I asked Tyler. He nodded his head yes, too overwhelmed to speak. I looked out the window. The girl was gone. I watched as the sky turned dark and held Tyler close. I walked down the stairs to where my bedroom was. I unlocked the door. But what I witnessed was horrific.
A girl with hair as black as coal and skin as pale as a ghost lying on the blood stained bed. Her still body ice cold to the touch. Her piercing blue eyes stared blatantly into mine. The girl that I had seen roaming the outside of the house was standing there beside the bed. She was holding a long, sharp knife that was covered in blood. She smirked at me. "So this is the Alexandra that I was told to meet before her 18th birthday." She said coldly, "and now that I have completed my task it will be your turn!" She pointed the knife in my direction. Tyler hugged me. I had never seen him so protective. "Your not going to touch her, you devil!" He shrieked spitting in her face. Terrified, I watched her wipe the spit off her face. She stared him then made a devilish grin. "Have I not been an informative host?" She asked, "but for your sake I'll give you the proper send off." She smiled cruelly, then with a twirl of her finger we sent through the mirror...
