Chapter 2 - Angel Gone Bad
I've waited for this for so long, and today my bravery is taking over my body once and for all. I'm finally doing this.
Its already 8PM, and father's rules state that everyone should be in their bedrooms by this time.
I got into a black dress I've been working on for some while. Knitting it was hard considering I don't get much time alone, but I've finally done it.
Now getting into the devils' world is the extremely hard part. I need to sneak into the library and open the book that lets me into their dimension. Its actually pretty easy, but if I'm caught, its my funeral.I slowly open my bedroom door, making sure to close it behind, and tiptoe throughout the whole hallway and down the stairs. My bedroom is on the last floor of the castle, and luckily its the only room up there.
I finally reach the library after what felt like forever. My heart is beating so fast I feel like I'm going to collapse any second.
Finding the book isn't that hard. My father always keeps it in a glass seal, and, like, its the only book here that's in a glass seal so...
I remove the glass from above the book and place it aside. I'm a hundred percent sure no one will come into the library. At least not before tomorrow comes.
The book is between my hands now, and they are shaking so bad, I've never held it before.
I rush back to my bedroom and sit on my bed just staring at the book. The word Deathfall is engraved on the cover. I'm starting to doubt this whole thing.
But before my second thoughts overcome me, I quickly open the book.
In a matter of seconds a black circle forms in front of me. It looks like a galaxy. Its actually beautiful.
My heart is racing. Should I do this?
I'm really going to lose my virginity to a devil.
I really need to become a new person.
All will be fine if I come back early.
I have to do this.
Or else I'll keep suffering here.
I place the open book on the floor and without thinking twice, I throw myself into the black hole.
I open my eyes to the feeling of being fallen from the sky. And I am actually falling from the sky.
In mid-air, I look around. Its night time.
I can't believe I'm in Deathfall.
I can see the whole city from up here. Its beautiful.
Seconds before I touch the ground, I open my wings and land safely in an abandoned area. If anyone sees me I'm dead for sure.
I close my wings again and put my hand over my heart, its racing so bad I can hear my heartbeats.
I start walking around and stop breathing every time someone passes me. No one even takes a second look at me. I actually look like one of them.
The only people who are looking at me with hungry looks are the male devils, and god, are they handsome.
Blushing, I look down, thinking about how this is my first time walking alone outside the castle, ever. If I want to go out, a guard must join me. Even during the times I have visited Darcy's house, which is like only twice in my entire life, guards used to go with me.
I'm such a disappointment.
I, princess of Northvale, am in Deathfall right now, in secret. I can't imagine what would happen to me if my father finds out.
I escape these thoughts when I hear a lovely sound. I look around me and realize that the sound is coming from a place called "Death Bar". I've never heard this kind of sound before.
I enter the bar, and I believe that sound is their music. I've read about it. It actually sounds very nice, and very different from the music known in Northvale.
I smile to myself. The adrenaline spreading in my body makes me so happy, I've never felt this feeling before.
To my surprise, my body is moving on it own, its dancing! But not like how we dance in Northvale, these are movements I've never did in my life!
I really don't know how to dance like them, so I start imitating everyone around me to their wonderful music.
"Hey, babe, wanna dance?" a guy beside me says.
"Me?" I ask him, pointing at myself. He's pretty cute. He's holding a cup in his hand which I guess is... whiskey? I don't know, I've never had any alcoholic drinks.
"Yes, you!" he smiles at me and I blush. This is a weird feeling. I've never flirted with anyone, I really don't know how to do this, and the guy right here looks like he's about to devour me.
"Alright!" I say and start dancing again. "What's that?" I ask, pointing at his cup. The ambience here is wonderful. The music is not too loud, so we can talk to each other with no need to shout. And there's plenty of people, looks like this bar is pretty known here. As I look around I notice a lot of stuff about the devils. Like us, they're obliged to have a piece of black clothing within their outfits.
And one thing that turned out to be a rumor about them is being covered in tattoos. A lot of them don't have any tattoos. They almost look like normal people.
"Its beer. Can I get you a glass, beautiful lady?" I blush at his question.
"I... I don't know. I've never had beer." I answer.
"I can get you something else." he says. To be honest, I've craving Mrs. Jane's French Toast, but I doubt they have it here.
"I've never drank alcohol."
He laughs. "You're a devil and you've never drank alcohol?"
"Well, its not an obligation, is it?"
"No, its not. Well, you can try a sip from mine if you want." he says. I mean, a sip of beer is fine, it won't hurt me.
And I doubt the drink is spiked, he was just drinking from it.
My shaking hands take the cup from his hand and slowly bring it to my lips. I take a small sip with my eyes closed shut, ready to feel the burn, but I open my eyes after not feeling anything. Its actually acceptable.
I'm very surprised with my self, growing up as a princess I was taught to be extra brave, and I'm glad that happened, or else I won't be here right now.
Suddenly the music goes a bit more quieter, and almost everyone goes silent, all that is heard now is the faded music and whispers.
"Umm... it was nice knowing you." the guy says as he looks behind me and rushes off. And here I thought everyone was looking at me, turns out they're looking behind me. I wonder what they're looking at.
I turn around, and my eyes meet the eyes of the most handsome man I have ever seen.
