Chapter 7 - The Truth
The taste of his lips brings back memories of our first night and the same strange feeling is running through my veins again.
I slightly push him away, this is not the time. "Is this really your house?" I ask.
"Yes."
"Security guards? This huge castle? You must be someone important here." I say. He walks over to a table and pours what I guess is whiskey into a glass cup before walking over to me and holding it in front of my face. "No thanks." I say and he drinks it himself. "What do your parents do?" I ask.
"It doesn't matter." he coldly says.
"Well, yeah it does, you know about mine so I should know about yours too." I say and our conversation is interrupted by a knock on the door.
I turn around to the sound of the door opening and a middle-aged man pears his head in. "Prince Lucifer, sorry for the interruption, but your father is calling for you." the man says and leaves, closing the door behind him.
W-What?
"Prince?" I quietly say to myself, my eyes are bulging out rom the shock. "And father?" A prince's father is the king so that makes Lucifer... "YOU'RE THE PRINCE OF DEATHFALL?"
"And what if I am?"
My heart is beating so fast I can't hear myself thinking. Sleeping with a devil is one thing, but sleeping with the Prince of Deathfall is another! I cannot believe this...
"How could you not tell me?!" I scream.
"Firstly, turn your voice down. And second, when we slept together I too didn't know that you're the princess of Northvale."
He does have a point, but... but I don't know.
He stands up and places his drink back on the table before walking closer to me.
He stands right in front of me, too close, there's only a few inches between us. "You can't be mad at me for this because you did the same. And frankly, I don't care if your mad or not. That's not my problem. Now, excuse me." he says and places a strand of hair behind my ear, I blush at his touch. "...The king is calling." he finally says before walking away and exiting his room.
I hear the door being locked and start panicking. I walk over there and try to open it, he really did lock it.
I run over to the balcony attached to his room, only to see more security guards around the castle. He knows well that I can't escape at all. He's smart, I'll give him that.
_
Its been like, an hour maybe? Maybe more, I don't even know because I fell asleep on his bed, his scent attached to the sheets. He smells so nice.
I hear the door getting unlocked and someone enters the room, closing the door behind. I'll pretend to still be asleep, I want to know what he's going to do.
I can feel him taking off his shoes behind me, and I know that's him because the second he entered the room his smell hit me.
He plops himself on the other side of the bed, my back still to him. I'm glad he didn't take of his clothes, because the result would just make me feel guiltier than I do now.
He lets out a loud breath, as if he's relieved the day is over.
"You can stop pretending to be asleep now." he says and my eyes pop out.
"How did you know?" I say and sit up. He's not undressed but he still looks attractive. His head is resting on his arm that's lying behind, and his bicep looks like its about to explode.
He turns his gaze to me, "I can sense it." he says and I get off the bed. It feels weird both of us sitting on the bed, chatting like we're best buds.
"I'm leaving." I say and head for the door, but stop in my grounds when he appears in front of me, blocking my way.
Super-speed, I forgot.
We're just looking at each other, does he... does he not want me to go?
He takes a few steps closer to me and places his hand on my cheek, I freeze.
"Do you... want me to go?" I whisper.
After a few seconds, "You can go." he coldly says and detaches his hand from face, walking away.
I stand in shock looking at the door in front of me. He doesn't want me to stay...
I look around at him and he's already lying in his bed, his back to me.
I don't say a word before walking out of his bedroom and shutting the door behind me. What a jerk. I didn't even wanna stay anyways. It will only lead to more bad decisions.
Bad decisions that I really wanted to take...
As I leave the castle I look back at his room, and as expected, he's not on the balcony watching me leave. Good, I didn't want him to see me looking back.
As I look at his bedroom from far away, I bump into something, almost falling back, before a hand is wrapped around my waist. This scene just keeps repeating itself.
I look up, its a guy. A handsome one. He has blond hair and brown eyes. VALERIE, SOP THINKING ABOUT LUCIFER.
"Oh, umm, s-sorry." I say. Its another devil.
"Don't be, beautiful." he says as he looks me up and down and gives me a soft smile. "Its my fault."
"O-Oh, no, totally mine." I blush and look down.
"What's your name? This is the first time I see you here." he says.
"I'm V-"
"None of your business, Damon." I hear Lucifer's voice from behind me. I turn around and he really is there. Damon? I wonder who that is.
He makes me so mad! I can tell my name to whoever I want!
"Actually, my name is Valerie." I tell Damon and smile. I look back at Lucifer whose glaring at me.
"Nice to meet you." Damon says and smiles too.
I feel a hand grabbing my wrist. "We're leaving." Lucifer says as he drags me away from Damon.
"Who was that?" I ask as we exit the castle, Lucifer still dragging me from my wrist.
"That doesn't concern you." he tells me and I don't even argue back. I'm tired and sleepy.
After a five-minute walk of silence we reach the woods and he finally lets go of my wrist. "Leave."
"You can't boss me around like that." I say, arms crossed as I let out my wings. "I'm only leaving because I want to. Now, goodbye." I tell him and fly away as fast as possible, not even looking back at him. He deserved it.
